Hi,
what FPS are you guys getting on the 8600GT (In particular the Asus G1s/G2s) ?
Avg indoor and outdoor?
In a firefight with 10+ people?
What res?
Max details?
Thanks
I'm pretty confident the Dell XPS m1710 with the 7950GTX will run it really well
Just not sure which one to get...
thanks! -

I downloaded it today will play it in a few min. I'm gonna try max settings at 1680 x 150 since someone with the 8600 said at 1440 x 900 it ran fine.

this is the review that worries me a bit with the 8600 GT...it would be a bit slower than the desktop version right? -
I'm running it at 1450x1050, average 50fps on high/max settings with no AA on my 570m 128mb.
Just buy it on steam, there's no point in buying it at the store. Either way you still have to run it through steam and you always have the option of dling the game and burning backup disks. -

WOW! On my c90 with the gddr2 c90, max settings everything with no vert sync and no AA at 1680 x 1050 runs amazing. I don't even need AA at that res. No drop in framerate whatsoever. Silky smooth. Once I thought it was dropping but it was just lag. Even in the most intense firefights (like being a medic so I kinda get in the fray sometimes) no drop.
This game is insanely fun. I just logged off right now to change my id (newbie to steam) and gonna get back in the action again. All the classes are pretty well balanced. Pyro is kinda weak they should make his range higher. Spy is tricky to be, and being medic is fun. I managed to get the top score on my team a few times just by not killing anyone. Only played an hour so far and am loving it. -
what fps were you getting?
is the command still cl_showfps?
sorry, an old quakeworld TF fan who just wants to give the game a bit of go
i can't stand FPS games running under 60fps -

Sorry don't have fraps installed. All I can say like I said is silky smooth fps. No hitches in framerate at all no matte rhow much action. The low is probably a very high fps thus no noticeable drops.

Ah you mean engineer? Hes kinda cool but his job can be kinda boring depending on patient you are. Hes terrible at fighting (mediocre health, medicore weapons) but he is an engineer after all. He builts telerports for the team, sentries (turrets, only 1 at a time), and buils dispensers which give health and ammo to teammates. Engineer is kinda tedious in some maps because you have to upgrade the sentry so it goes to stage 3 (very powerful) but to do that you have to run back and collect metal (his ammo) or pick up weapons which count as metal. Once upgraded though you just sit back and let the turret rip people to shreds. You have to place the turret wisely though but it is the most powerful "weapon" in the game in terms of how much damage it does how fast. But it can be annoying when spies keep destroying your turrets so you kinda have to babysit them and thats when sometimes it can be boring, just waiting for enemies.
Also pyro is not that bad (though I don't prefer him) if you catch someone off guard around or a corner or just come in close his flamethrower does crap loads of damage. Even after they run away they are still on fire for a couple of sec and keep taking damage. Also his fire is soemtimes disorientating when you get blasted and flames everywhere sometimes you lose track of which direction its coming from, or maybe thats just me. -

I just got TF2, great game, but I am still learning how to play it!
Very funny, lots of fun, and the graphics and game play style is awesome!
Anyone playing Team Fortress 2 Beta?
