It looks pretty good and reviewers are praising it but I know they'll sell there souls for next to nothing. So has anyone picked it up yet?

    Is the pc version playable??
How's the world,?Odyssey is huge but there was nothing to do/very few side quests actually seemed good.Basically your average ubisoft game.

My neighbor has it and he says it's fun...a 1060 6gb gets 40fps on ultra which is a good sign if you have a 2060 or better... that's at 1080p mind you

It's an Ubisoft sandbox game with a slightly different coat of paint than the last one. Hardware Unboxed did an excellent optimization guide that appears to sacrifice very little image quality for a 25% or more uplift in performance.

Yeah it's always a good idea to used mixed settings..so little changes with most settings as they are ports and the PS4/Xbox are static in terms of dynamic settings..their are of course exceptions like msfs 2020

Basically what saturnotaku said - a typical Ubi sandbox. If you enjoy such type of games, you will enjoy Valhalla.

I play it. Between Odyssey and Valhalla, I like Valhalla better.

Ended up paying the 60 for it off u play I figured if I get the amount of time from this one as I did odyssey it'll be worth it..Plays great on my 2080SMQ and 10750h with all maxed out settings.I.. just lock it at 60fps to keep it cpu temps from spiking.
One thing I like more about this one then odyssey is it seems more mature/darker then odyssey.Idk how to really explain it but odyssey at times felt like playing a live action disney movie lol then you go and initiate brutal violence, babies getting thrown off cliffs, etc haha I was really confused at times playing odyssey.

I'm not liking this new driver though I feel like clocks aren't as stable with this one...I had the standard/desktop 457.9 version running great on my ge66.

I don't know if you are aware of this, but you can get a 20% discount code on UPlay.
I had over 200 coins of whatever I got for achievements, and traded 100 for a 20% discount.

IMO, a pretty nice feature, which I wish Steam and the rest would implement. As someone who finds game achievement to be useless as a whole, this is a pretty nice thing and actually makes doing achievements worthwhile.

Damn I had no idea I gotta check now,I got pretty far in odyssey but I would always launch it through steam so I hope they cross over.

Well, make sure to remember about them next time you buy something :)
You can apply discount to whatever you want - new game, discounted game, seasons pass, etc.
These coins have an expiration date, but unfortunately I don't remember where to check...

That's pretty cool, I definitely have at least 100.
EDIT: apparently not, I must have used them for some reason. Could have sworn I had a bunch of points or something a while back.

Like I've said, I think they have an expiration date, so maybe they expired.

I just redeemed some coins (had 109) for the discount code but it wouldn't apply to Valhalla because they are currently including a "bonus mission" or something that counts as a "special offer" which cannot be combined with the coupon code. Lame.

Interesting, I had no problem... Got both discount and that bonus mission...

I sent a message to their support and they referred me to this in their FAQ:

    https://support.ubisoft.com/en-US/f...ny-limitations-with-my-20-Discount-code-Store

That really sucks, because I redeemed the code (which expires in 3 months) but will have to wait 3 months to use it for Valhalla.

I bet it was an accidental loophole and they fixed the problem. I definitely couldn't see them wanting to give away 20% on a brand new game that will sell well without it.

Then again EGS seemed to always have those 10% off on anything coupons you could score during sales. Shrug. Hard to figure anything out these days.

I just tried Odyssey for a little while to see if this type is still working for me but I have to say I'm disappointed by how the player is "forced" to stay on path. You can't touch anything even only 2-3 levels above you. I'm really not a fan of these artificially increasing game time gimmicks.

Origins was starting to feel like this but it wasn't this bad and I played it a lot.

    Is Valhalla similar?

I'm not sure I'm following you because all I remember doing in odyssey was fighting mercenaries and the different monsters/animals that always were higher levels..That was what kept me hooked because the story was trash.I'd log on,find a opponent that was a challenge and keep going til I won, logoff and repeat another day...Barely doing any quests til one day I was like level 45 so I wouldn't know if you meant the actual quests not scaling because by the time I started them I was way over powered...

Regardless as someone who didn't really find odyssey that good or any ubisoft games after the first few hours I think valhalla is a lot better..This one actually has a atmospheric vibe to it and doesn't feel like the usual recycled ubisoft formula...They improved on just about everything I didn't like about Odyssey.
