I am using the ATI 5730 Mobility Radeon to edit in Premiere and whenever I put the preview screen to full screen, even if the timeline does not need rendering, it stills has choppy playback.

I've been trying to get a solution to this from other forums however most people are using desktop card especially in the high end bracket and say they are not experiencing these issues.

In one circumstance, a person told me that its something to do with the drivers and that anything after catalyst 9.8 the problem started however, I do not believe my card could be downgraded to those drivers as the first set of drivers that came with this card were the 10.1s

If anyone can offer any assistance it would be greatly appreciated.

10.4 supports DXVA L5.1 and supports GPU accelerated encoding.

Does it? I believe I have those drivers installed but I see no signs of any GPU accelerated within the realm of Premiere Pro. The playback is still choppy on full screen.

Hmm it works for me. For some reason I got it to work.

Full DXVA support. And I know the encoder used the latest revision for x264 on this video.

Here is a screenshot showing full DXVA L5.1 Support:

10.5 seems to fix the premiere preview based on another user on Guru3D

Yes from 10.5 the issues have been fixed, however, I run into another issue with magic bullet looks crashing when using these drivers. I have had to downgrade to the drivers my Asus originally came with to get the best of both world.

Lol, oh well, at least it works I guess. :)
