Hi.
My FPS sucks.
It fluctuates like crazy, as you have doubtlessly seen from that video.
Reddit is worthless when trying to find out anything about issue.
People telling me to overclock and see if it helps, then telling me I probably overheated with the OC and it killed any gains I could have potentially had. Because I'm on a laptop.
Anybody have any idea about this? Has anyone noticed worse FPS since the last couple months of patches? Some users claim they have had aids-like performance as I have, but others claim no difference. I haven't tried lowering settings yet (as you can understand from my util % why I didn't) or turning off SLI etc, but I still want to know if anyone noticed anything like that, and/or has a potential fix.

Your system should eat this game (it recommends GeForce 7800 GTX ROFL). Have you tried:
Disabling Hyper-Threading
Overclocking CPU
Changing power management mode to 'prefer maximum performance' in Nvidia Control Panel
Enabling 4x DSR
Disabling SLI -
I don't have your system but I tried the game to see how it performed, and I played half a match just to check. Random 8v8, with vsync on and I was running at 96fps, so something is definitely up. My GPU utilization maxed at 80% so they werent maxed. Tutorial ran up to 140fps.
On a side note, the game wouldn't even start in windows 10. So I ended up rolling back to just play the game. -
No
Yes (3.9GHz max sliders). Didn't help.
Yes.
No.
Not yet. Yes, both forcing to single GPU and turning off SLI entirely.
Thanks for trying for me T_TLast edited: Aug 10, 2015 -
Game also ran like **** for me. 30-40 FPS average. I'm on a single 780M tho.

Well there was an interesting thread that was showing with new driver (353.62) on W10 supporting DX12 would seem to reserve about 1/8th of VRAM possibly meaning if you were at the limits of VRAM with older drivers then it could have an impact on your application / game. It was starting to turn into an interesting thread but was locked for reasons I can only assume were due misunderstanding it.
@octiceps regards your post in that thread on misreporting VRAM. All the quick and dirty program I wrote did was to grab as much VRAM as it could until there was none or very little left via CUDA. It can clearly be seen much less VRAM is available to the app with the newer driver. Would have been interesting IMO to find out why 1/8th of VRAM is seemingly being reserved. -

That's what I get on my GS30 (the video is still processing)
This was done on windows 10 with the 353.62 drivers. -
If Eason with the 970M didn't have it run like poo as well, I would have assumed it was a Maxwell GPU optimization/Kepler GPU breakdown deal going on.
Either way it seems to be random whether or not it runs well. That's just glorious. In the terrible way. -

What if you disable SLI?

Tried both forcing to single GPU and disabling SLI entirely, and ran the tests at 1006/6000 overclock. No idea if the overclock actually kept up though; I wasn't checking speeds. I know if I OC and the GPUs don't need to use the power, they'll sit at the base 850 core (though memory will always be improved; so at worst it was running at 850/6000... even though if it tried to use the card any, it WOULD have kicked in the OC).
I just set it back to SLI and I'm going to ignore it for a few patches since reddit is worthless and the devs refuse to respond to me (and I kind of don't blame them, if BF4 on ultra ran better than my game that looks like an Xbox 360 would have no problem with it, I'd be ashamed too). Unless someone figures out what the issue might be (if it's a specific setting, or a .ini mod I can use, etc). -
Someone, mentioned, it doesn't run on Windows 10. Yes it does, just set compatibility to Windows 8 on the main .exe.
Anyone who plays Dirty Bomb, can you explain my FPS?
