I'll be purchasing a laptop this summer, but I am in no hurry to buy it. I'm just curios as to whether there will be any advantage as to waiting until August to buy the notebook rather than just purchasing it now. I've seen that the price on SSDs has been dropping like crazy lately. Any new gpus, notebooks, laptops becoming compatible with different gpus, etc.

    Thanks a lot!

I heard SSD prices drop to about $0.5/GB this summer.

GTX 680M should become available in July/August.

Yeah I just looked through the AMD 7970m vs GTX 680m thread. The card looks nice but I can't see myself dropping an extra $300 for the amount of increased performance you'll be getting. I wonder if that price will move at all.

by the time 680m will be available most likely amd will counter with 7990m or 8000m family will be almost around the corner (Q4 2012), but I would have waited for 680m just because nvidia :) But if you don't wanna spend +2k bucks, go with p9150em + 7970m for about 1400 bucks, you won't regret it :) 7970m is already ~6k 3dmark11, what more do you need :D

    GOD BLESS 28nm!!! :)
