    hi,
i understand that the laptop graphics cards are not replacable, but i really need to upgrade mine (NVidia Go6100). mine sucks..... is there really nothing i can do???

Could i take the one i have now out and solder a new one in????

    im this desperate....

I am running a 17inch acer Aspire 9301AWSMi laptop which i am gradually turning into a Desktop....without all the cables :)

Well, on top of laptop cards not being upgradable, that is an IGP, so, you wouldn't be able to do it in a desktop anyway.

The IGP is inside of the chipset...cannot be upgraded.

I think the Vidock might be a good alternative for you, assuming it comes on the market anytime soon..

Integrated Graphics processor meaning its part of your chipset so it can't be upgraded/replaced.

His system is probably in need for an overhaul anyway, so I sugest a new laptop.
The "external" cards would be slow anyway and could not compete with a 8600M GT for example.

I recommend the Vostro 1500 as being among the most affordable laptops with the 8600M GT at the moment.

Read the stickies before you post. You can't upgrade your graphics card . . .
