Does anybody know this game? I think it is the best game ever. Though it is 4 years old it is the best RPG I have played. I am leaving to Spain in a week and haven't been playing games for a year. But since CDs are SOO cheap over here, i consider it a sin not to get at least a few PC games. Can anybody recommend me a game which would take my breath away like Arcanum (if you've heard of it :) )

its not an RPG, but Far Cry has some of the best graphics, and Splinter Cell Pandora's Tomorow has great graphics as well.

Probably the closest to an RPG that I've played would be Freelancer, which is another excellent game. Its a space sim, that uses regular mouse and a few keyboard controls. It doesn't have the complex controls of most flight sims and is easy to pick up.

Then there is always my favorite which is another old game: Counter-Strike.

Then a free game that is fun for all bzflag. http://www.bzflag.org

Yes! That is a great game.

Some of these may be obvious choices you have already played.

From the same guys who wrote Arcanum: Fallout, Fallout 2 (these are classics)

Planescape Torment - IMO absolutely the best RPG ever. This game takes Half Life and whips its butt. Seriously. Very unique story and characters.

Baldur's Gate 1 and II and the related expansion packs are good.

If you have a machine with a decent video accelerator (RADEON 7500 or GF4MXGO or newer) you might want to give Neverwinter Nights and Knight of the Old Republic a try. They use a 3D engine so they are more taxing on computers.

Freelancer is excellent and plays very well at high settings on a laptop!!!

You might also want to try adventure games like Syberia and Broken Sword.

For an arcade kick, try Need for Speed Underground. It runs nice on my little r100 so it would kick ass on your rig I am sure.

Fallout 1 and 2 are the greatest RPGs in the history of mankind, I do not exaggerate. I hate that they had to make these stupid spinoffs like Fallout Tactics, we need a Fallout 3!!!

Fallout 3 is going to be a dissapointment for people who were addicted to the original 2. The game was totally reconstructed and is going to be released by Bethseda software (the folk who did Morrowind) which, by the way, I recommend highly! If you haven't played Morrowind, buy it and the expanision. Anyway, Fallout 3 is going to be first person and in the style of Morrowind, or so I hear. I am sooo sick of 1st person games so this is a big dissapointment for me. As far as the old Baldurs Gate games go, they are definitely worth playing, although by now the graphics are probably pretty outdated and there are some serious compatibility problems with Windows 2k and XP.
