Hello. I have an Nvidia 8700m GT. My question is are the 3rd party drivers better? I have looked at a few, but is there a increase in fps or something? I don't need overclocking, but will I gain like 5-10 fps from switching to these 3rd party drivers? I prefer to stick with the Nvidia drivers, but like I said if there is a nice fps increase then I'll switch. Also if they are better in your opinion please state which 3rd party drivers you are using. Thanks.

Driver performance will vary game to game. Newer drivers are usually better for newer games and older ones for old games. Once you have appropriate drivers, ie. not using stock drivers, then you'll *rarely* see a huge increase; 0-3 fps average. By 3rd party do you mean "omega drivers"? Never tried them, but there shouldn't be a huge difference for modern gpu's.

Okay Thank you. Omega drivers was one of the drivers I was looking at, but if the increase is not *big* then I'll just stick with the Nvidia drivers.

Yup
I'd only change if a game wasn't running right or if there was no other way to get a custom resolution in a game. And definatly not a *big* difference.

I recommend avoiding omega. Never had a good run with them on several notebooks. Excess heat for less performance

Okay thanks.
