My specs are shown below and using the free 3DMark06 Version 110 I got a score of 3745. I have a feeling this is quite a bit below what I should be getting, what do you guys get, anyone with similar spec laptop?

BTW 3DMark06 is running on 1024 x 768 0xAA Optimal filtering. I can't change these settings because it's the free version.

    Custom Vaio FW3
    - 2.66GHz Core 2 duo CPU
    - ATI HD3650 512mb GDDR3
    - 4GB 800mhz DDR2 ram
    - 320GB 5400rpm hdd
    - 1920x1080 full hd 19" display
    - Vista 64-bit

Yep thats what I get... Around 4000... Well at least I can overclock :) and in a near future even change my graphics card because my laptop uses MXM. Btw I my laptop has VERY similar specs like yours.

I would have expected a higher score with your system spec, I get 3768 at 1280x900 , and i only have a GDDR2 memory , my core is at 600mhz and memory at 500mhz.

With the right driver i can get 4130points without overclocking.

I suspect your card has been crippled to reduce heat a shame as it has GDDR3 memory, you should be able to get 5000+ points with overclocking.

Use Gpu-z to see memory and core speeds.

Edit: Wait is that ATI modded driver from those alienware users? Can you overclock?

If you have the HD3650 GDDR3 version with 512MB, I think it is not much what you get but not far away. You should get around 4300-4800max in 1280x800 resolution.
How come is picking that resolution the 3dmark06?
Usually it goes for 1280x800 or 1280x1024, unless it's 1280x768 and not 1024x768
If you have the DDR2 version, it is a bit high but in the normal range.

that's not normal, i got nearly 4.5k with ocing at that res. i have a much weaker card and cpu.
run gpu-z, see if sony downclocked your card to keep the heat down.

edit: you have the free version and a full hd screen, which means you benched at 1280*1024 instead of 1024*768. the score is fine then.

That seems a low for the resolution that it's at.

No. Any catalyst 9.3 Vista32 driver only! ,mod it then just add the .inf files as i have described.

I know it`s not the easiest guide to follow.

Weird - with the machine in my sig I get 4572 3DMarks, on the same resolution, without AA. Your notebook seems more powerful than mine, and yet you get a lower 3DMark score.

Because your 9600M GT is a lot more powerful, than a HD3650
