I know on the Nvidia side the 9800GTX is the best card you can get and i know the HD4870M and HD4850Mx2 are either about to be released or already have been but i can't find any laptops for sale online with them.

    What is the deal?

    thanks

Good to hear, I hope there will be notebooks with these new cards by Christmas but I have a feeling we may not see them until next year. Nvidia has a total monopoly on the laptop gaming front with its 9800 series, I hope these Radeons can put up a good fight and also be lower priced as well. :)

Good fight yes.. lower price I highly doubt it. And I'm sure they'll seem less affordable with the way the economy is going. As always new tech is expensive at first.. so maybe by middle to end of next year they might be able to put up a fight on price and graphics processing.

    (START RANT)
Red_Dragon, you are so full of crap sometimes.

A random suggestion by a guy on the Alienware forums does not count as a "rumour". "Heart Attack" prices? The m17 is cheap as chips, considering alienware history, and will not have a heart attack price if they somehow get the 4000 mobiliy series. Which I doubt they will, as that would require a motherboard change and a different model.

Where'd you hear November? The MSI GT725, the first confirmed laptop with a 4000 series mobility card has been confirmed by MSI reps to launch in January - February.

Ok, sorry to hijack this thread, but I had to make that statement to Red sometime or another.
    (END RANT)

And no, they are not out yet. Expect a January to February release. ATI are notorious for not keeping to launch dates. They announced they were shipping the 3800 series mobility cards last year and notebooks featuring those cards have only been coming out Q3 this year.

qaz333, where was it confirmed the MSI GT725 won't launch until early next year as well as other notebooks with the HD4000 cards?
