I tried Google, I did a search on this forum, but I still didn't find the answer. Are the following discrete graphic cards directx 10 or not?

    Lenovo Thinkpad t61:
128 MB NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M

    Dell Latitude D820:
512 MB NVIDIA Quadro NVS 120M
256 MB NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M

The T61's 140M is. It is based on the 8400M.

    The D820 is all directx9

The Dell Latitude D8 30 is Santa Rosa/DX10. However, it doesn't have the Nvidia cards in yet. You'll have to wait for discrete DX10 cards if you want a Dell - it only has a GMA X3100 right now.

Keep in mind the X3100 is not DX10, still DX9.0c

Are you sure? I read everywhere that the X3100 is a DX10 card. However, it's an integrated card, so while it may be DX10 it will not run all games properly.

I'm not 100% sure, but 9.0c sounds right. But if you are interesting in gaming or 3d applications, you don't want this card. Intel sucks for those kinds of apps.

Go check Intel's website. They only mention DX9. I remember hearing that it was supposed to be DX10 also, but it isn't. There was some rumor out that Intel will be able to do a BIOS upgrade to support DX10 in the future, but I'd guess that's just wishful thinking.

I *think* the X3100 has re-programmable shaders, which means some day it might support DX10...but I wouldn't count on it. I'm sure Intel would love to just release a new card and get more money for it :)
