I refused to purchase the map packs for the longest time now on the pc due to the price. However I am starting to cave in, especially because I am getting the problem of joining a game and getting kicked out due to not having the map packs. Are the map packs worth it?......15 dollars each....wow....I hate activision....

With the price of two map packs + 3 dollars more, you could have bought Bad Company 2 from yesterday's Steam summer sales.
    Don't support Activistion's greed.

ill let you know later tonight after steam decides to open the downloads.
tbh i bought the stimulas just to give more choice in maps as they get a bit tedious when everyone knows the hiding places and the sniper campers just sit there bumping you off.
the insurgence i have no idea as it was meant to be released 15 minutes ago.

Ughh how is it you get put into games without the map packs? I have never, ever, been stuck into a game with a map I did not have. Please do not buy them, supporting ActiEVIL will just merit more overpriced map packs.

Please don't buy the Map Packs. This type of pricing model is not what PC gaming needs: $50 +$15 +$15 +$15 +$15 +$12 (<--sale); especially in an online genre where this promotes community conformity, or segmentation. You might as well just pay a subscription to play MW2.

The new map pack looks better than the first, but I'm still not paying for it. Never bought the first pack, but have played the maps on a friends xbox and didn't like the new maps. I had more fun playing on the cod4 maps than I did playing the new ones.

Well I bought the 2nd map pack about 3 days ago(on the 360) and although I haven't played the new maps to much, I get confused on the three new maps plus there is a rock glitch on Fuel where you go in the rock and I guess you can't be killed so I stay out of that area. Trailer Park and Carnival are the maps that I am iffy about since they frustrate me because I keep getting lost. I would say its worth it just because you get Strike and Vacant which are awesome maps, and once I get used to the other maps I'm sure I will like them to.

Not worth it. BC2 is better but get's old. No prone position? DLC should be free IMO.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea, I loved cod4 for my xbox360 back in the day, and I have never played it on the pc, Is the pc version worth 30 bucks? Do people still play it?

Last time I checked there were still quite a few people playing it (that was a while ago though).

CoD4 is a good choice to buy on the PC, especially if you can't wait until Black Ops comes out.

Most of the DLC is free if you purchased the game with a V.I.P membership (but some of it isn't, which is understandable)

Going prone was kind of frustrating in the beginning, but now I kind of like it. I don't have to worry if someone is laying down behind something, or hiding somewhere, and it makes them an easier target for me to hit (I almost always win a gun battle, lol).
