Does anyone know if there are any laptops available today with Mobility Radeon 4830, 4850, 4860, or 4870 graphics chips?

http://www.msimobile.com/level2_productlist.aspx?search=gt725 but they don't have i7
-
Your M6400 can be configured w/ the workstation variant of the HD 4860.
-
best ones would be w90 and m17x if your after a gaming machine -
The OP's current FX 3700M with GTX 280M or 9800M GTX consumer drivers would be around equal to even the best current ATI card (HD 4870)...
-
The new HP envy 15 has HD 4830 and a core i7 processor.
-
MSI GT628 and GT725 and GT729 have 4850 and Q9000... Alienware has M17x with 4870... and if u can find ASUS Has the W90...

I love my FX3700! I'm trying to find a gaming laptop for a buddy who is not a computer geek like us
I have scoped out an ASUS 260M system that looks good, but I wanted to compare prices to some of the Radeon 48xx machines. BTW, why would I want to run consumer drivers on the FX3700, the Quadro drivers are working great...

GT628 has an Nvidia GTS 160m
GT725 and GT729 are VERY hard to find now, as is the Asus W90 -
HP Envy 15 - 4830, Core i7
MSI GT725/729 - 4850, Q9000/P8700
Asus W90 - 4870 (x2), Q9000
Alienware M17x - 4870 (x2), QX9300 -
Thanks for all the replies. Pickings are pretty slim or overpriced for Radeon 48xx laptops. I think the best bang for the buck is the Asus G72GX-RBBX05 for $1150 at bestbuy.com...

there is no ATI 4870 out but the M17x and Asus are the best gaming laptops with the 4 series cards

That's a GTX260M. If it had a 4870, that would make it a great value indeed. -
Yes, it's a nVidia 260M, P8700 CPU, 6GB RAM, 1600x900 17" screen. My friend's price target is around $1000, If anyone knows of a better gaming laptop for that price please chime in...

Gateway 7908U. -
I'm sorry, but ewwww, Gateway.
-
There's nothing else close to that Asus in his price range, so tell him to get that.
There's also the Gateway 7908U, but I don't like Gateway.
But then again, Gateway has way better cooling, so maybe get that instead. -
and why do you ppl hate gateway? Its laptop's look all right and have good specs except for the not so good cases...
-
Ya nothing wrong with gateway, their FX line is pretty much top notch, cant say the build quality is the best but at that price one sacrifice had to be made.

Clevo >> Alienware >> Commodore 64 >> Gateway
-
lol commodore 64 ....but my 7811FX was doing really good ~~
-
lmao.. but I do agree!
