Are these games worth getting?

STALKER and Jade Empire?

Both on sale, $7.90 and $4.90, respectively. Never tried either one and the reviews seem to be decent but from what I get from it, they're nothing too spectacular. Though for this price, I suppose it's a pretty killer deal. Still, I'm cheap

Plus I have like 10 recently purchased games that I haven't even opened yet.

Thoughts?

 

You can go to game site reviews and read the whole thing and see if that kind of game will appeal to you. Make sure you read a couple reviews thouh because a lot are very biased.
For example, I read reviews calling GTA IV a console port "done right".
Ive heard very good things about Stalker, if there are demos for those games out, give them a try

 

I've played STALKER for a little bit at a friends house and liked it quite a bit, but not enough to spend $50 on it. However, at $7.90, I think it's worth it.

I can't comment on Jade Empire because I've never played it.

 

if you're an FPS Fan, then Stalker should be wonderful for you, ive bought it when it had a high price, and it was well worth it

 

Jade Empire is a Bioware RPG, so if you liked KOTOR or Mass Effect get it. It's kind of a mid point between the two, not as action-ey as Mass Effect, but more Action than KOTOR. Good story and graphics, well worth 5$, well worth 20$ even.

 

yeah i have stalker and i think its good i also had Jade Empire on Xbox and i really liked it not sure how good it would be on PC though but for that price id say it worth the buy

 

STALKER is one of those love it or hate it types of games. Some people will say it's the best FPS, or even game ever made, and others can't stand it. I'd personally pay more than 50$ for it because of how awesome the game is, but that's just my opinion of it. I've never played jade empire though.

at $7.90 its way worth it. I didnt think games came that cheap.

 

i tried to get into stalker a while back, though my videocard at the time (7600 go) couldnt handle it, i just might revisit it.

Stalker is a great game, if you like FPS pick it up. It starts out rough, but stick with it and it gets a lot easier (although never easy). Also, there are a lot of mods out to make it play/look even better.

STALKER is great if you like a mixture of FPS and RPG elements. It's got great atmosphere and the gameplay is good. At that price I would highly recommend buying it.

 

If you have not already gone and done it, I would buy Stalker for $7.90 It is a love it or hate it, but if you give it a chance and be patient, you will really enjoy it, especially with all the patches and mods for it. Bro, for $7.90, you really can't go wrong with much of anything, except for GTA4

 

...and Silverfall. I made the mistake of buying that one, and if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have taken that steaming pile home if *they* paid *me* $7.90 to take it.

 

Stalker is good but it's @#$%ing hard

 

Jade Empire PC port is actually pretty shoddy.

I say get Stalker, I am of the type that love it. Just started playing through Clear Sky again for the 3rd time and been playing an ongoing game of Stalker: SoC for close to 8 months now. It is my ninth play through of Stalker (this time I playing it very different exploring and collecting artifacts) The amazing mods alone are enough to pick this one up for that price.
