Downloaded this today all 2gb of it and as it's a free game and I had it on Xbox, I thought what the heck.

I downloaded it, started it and nothing happens. I press CTRL, ALT and ESC to bring up the Task Manager and it's using about 5,000K of memory.

I've set the compatability to Windows XP service pack 1,2 and 3 and it STILL doesn't work.

Anyone know what I can do?

    Thanks.

There's nothing to patch, it's just a simple .exe file.

It works in safe mode "/

have u updated ur graphics drivers? That might be 1 reason.. also is it pirated? You did say u downloaded it.. if its pirated , high chance of not working.

It's freeware, and it's nothing to do with my graphics as I was playing Batman:Arkham Asylum and COD:MWF2 just minutes ago. I opened it in Safe Mode and it starts up (doesn't get very far as it says I need an internet connection to play) but it does start up. I tried turning off Windows Firewall and Comodo Firewall, but it still doesn't start up.

Hi. I'm new to the forums, but I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The problem is not that Area 51 won't start, it's that it won't install. The installer application starts up just fine. But once I get to a certain point, there is apparently an error, and the installation refuses to continue before it even starts installing. A patch won't work if there's nothing to be patched. Does ANYONE know what I can do to get it to install?
