I just started playing and the game is heavily artefacted on my 5770 O.O. I read online it is a pretty common issue with ATI cards but I would have though they fixed it after 2 years.

Anyone had it and knows how to fix it? thanks

    But
I just saw they released 10.1 last week. I'll try them.

Have you fully patched the game? The Witcher is riddled with bugs and various issues unless it is fully patched.

I think Witcher was fixed in the 9.12s as well, so if you dont like the 10.1s, try those.

Steams's version and it's the Enchanced director's cut edition so yeah.

    Wasn't 9.12 only a CF hotfix for the 5870?

There was 9.12 AND 9.12 hotfix. Both slightly different, it was the hotfix that included extra crossfire goodness but the bug was also likely fixed in these too as it was fixed for the older 9.12 WHQL.

    Apparently 9.12 was quite buggy...

Depends on the game and user, they were a bit hit and miss, some liked them some didnt. The hotfix were slightly better IMO. My brother is using the Jan 8.70rc drivers atm which seem decent.

    Well 8.69 fixed the bugs.

Why does ATI use 2 naming schemes simultaneously for their drivers? >_>

8.70rc are betas, x.xx (WHQL) are monthly released drivers, whilst hotfixs are full drivers they havent got WHQL listed due to the time it takes, and either tend to have new features or be for games just out.

The ways of naming are interchangeable. official released drivers are known as xx.xx driver which simply comes from year.month, the actual driver build version is roughly about 8.69 in the last officials, but beta drivers dont get given an official name so are just known off the driver build.
