Does it still need internet check everytime you play it?

As much as I may want to play this game for pocket change, Ubisoft will not get my money until they remove their asinine DRM.

I love how the pirates get a better, more reliable product than those of us who pay for it.

Wow good find. I passed the $7 AC2, but at $3.74 (and no tax?), it might be too good to pass up [I ask about tax, because Steam AND Amazon charges me tax since i'm a WA resident].

Does GamersGate charge tax? Not that I'm a crazy no tax guy, but could swing me into buying it if I didn't

As longest you have a constant internet connection(which, nowadays most of the people have), i don't see any reason not to buy this game, specially when this deal is too good to pass. Ubisoft will not remove the DRM( which unfortunately is the future of gaming, tanks to the piracy, It was imminent ), therefore, you either deal with it, or pass along. ;)

It's not that they don't have the ability to follow along with the DRM, they choose not to on principle.

Lawl yes, skidrow. I thought I had it wrong. So its discussion won't lead to a mod screaming at us? I'm just hesitant given that this is pretty much my main forum and it has quite a clean reputation.

Cracks don't matter if I've already given money to a developer for something I do not support.

Steam can get pretty decent download speeds too if you have a good enough connection. I'm spoilt by stupidly fast internet at my college so that's where I download my games. I can get through about 5-6GB in less than 15 minutes over there, at times I've seen it peak above 10MB/sec. I just wish everywhere else had internet like that...

Clearly you can get high download speed if the connection is good enough, not only on Steam :p

The difference, I believe, is that since Steam is far more popular their bandwidth is more saturated. I mean, I download games using the same conection, not Steam on the slow and Gamersgate (or any other) on the fast connection. ;)

So true... but the pirates usually don't get any type of multiplayer fun.

Is this deal DEAD? Shows up for $14.95 now...
