I got my brother an R61 for his birthday, and he's trying to run Assassin's Creed on it.
He says that it's crashing for him during the game's loading screen. Here's exactly what he told me*:
*gratuitous typos corrected
R61 Specs:
- Core 2 Duo 2.1GHz
- 1GB DDR2-667
- 128MB Quadro NVS 140M
- 5400rpm Hard Disk
- Windows XP
I'll point him to this thread so he can provide some more information, but we'd appreciate anyone's help getting this running.

The graphics card my be the problem. Although that's not a %100 sure.
I would check the refresh rate as well. That might be a big one. Same problem with battlefield 2 where it wouldn't even start. Is there a log of this error? That maybe he could give you? -
Yeah what happens is i start a new game and what i believe is the character's first person view through the animus is what i see as the loading screen. Flashy pictures of Damascus and Jerusalem and whatnot, it goes smooth for a a few seconds, then the image gets choppy and slow, then it just closes, and im back at the desktop. Zach told me to try powering off the wireless radio.
Didnt work. =/ -
i was able to beat it on my t61 w/ 140m
i think you're choking on ram but try disabling the internet. make sure you are not connected to any networks. When I was connected, I would get like 30 second stalls after every person I killed.
make sure you update bios, get all updates from lenovo and windows
make sure direct x is installed
be sure to turn the gfx settings way down. everything on low and resolution @ around 640x480
you can also hit alt enter to get into window mode
I had overclocked my system, 4gb ram and beat it on the lowest settings. in order to get past certain parts I had to lower the crowd levels and go to window'd mode -
zachtib,
I've moved your thread to the Gaming (Software and Graphics Cards) section. You should receive better assistance there.
Good luck! -

I think its your ram that's doing it. You only have 1Gb the game needs at least 2 Gb, 3 Gb of ram is recommend!

yes halo fan is right. You need at least 1 gig ram and 256 megs of video ram. Since the nvidia 140m only has 128 megs, it will borrow the rest from system ram (your 1gig) and thus leave you under the minimum system ram requirement
