So here we are... keep in mind these are rumors, but lord knows they tend to be true at times.

Personally.. this seems absolutely absurd to the level of insanity. I guess optimization is no longer a duty for Ubisoft.
Do discuss..
P.S. Cant wait for this game![]()

EDIT: So it's official, those are the specs according to the THIS Ubisoft blog post!

Are they still requiring Uplay client for all their games even if you buy from Steam?
-
Another 50 gig. size game? I think I will skip SSD and buy another 1 TB hard drive.
-
Yes it's automatically installed and launched as you launch the game from Steam.
Yeah I can't quite grasp how come it is so large.. -
so if these rumours are true my 2 year old (at the time fastest 15" available) will only just scrape through on minimum gpu spec
ouch, thats going to hurt a lot of people.
and theres all the kiddies moaning about the minimum gpu of 450 for cod advanced warfare
-
Another quality release from moronic Ubisoft. I'm done with supporting anything they put out. At least with those requirements we can all probably achieve the Ubisoft holy grail 24fps filmic effect.

No way, AC is a blockbuster franchise, they cannot rely only on gtx 780 users, maybe ubisoft compiles things with -O0 like microsofts default

This is minimum?
-
I think that series ran it coarse along time ago. Yet they'll keep milking console owners since they have nothing else to play.
-
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Well duh! That's why ACU requires so much firepower.
Keeping jokes aside (what jokes?), those specs look more like "recommended" then "minimal". However, those still might be "minimal", keeping in mind what a crappy port Watch Dogs was, or so I heard.
So what's this time? Uncompressed audio files again?
Unfortunately it looks like it's gonna be the trend for the "next gen" games.
It's kinda funny, you know. You can have ~4 games installed from the end of the "last gen" and for the most part they look exactly the same (give or take) and take as much space as that one "next gen" game. -

I used to think the same thing until I gave the recent one a try. I really like what they've done with the protagonist, we are the protagonists!
It's probably going to be a poor port like Watch Dogs was and someone from the interwebz will come to the rescue with a performance patch....then again I said the same thing about Dead Rising 3 and that's yet to happen ;/TBoneSan likes this. -

I heard the one about pirates was good. Was it IV? There's I, II, Brotherhood, Revelations, III, Liberation (?), IV, and now Unity, right? It's kinda hard to keep a track on these "yearly" franchises. I think taking a break once in a while and eliminating a few unnecessary parts would definitely benefit them. Just look at what kind of crap COD and BF turned into. -
Guys, this is OBVIOUSLY recommended system specs for max detail. Minimum will probably be C2D, 4 GB RAM and GTS 450/8800GT again, don't worry. I'm pretty sure they will optimize this time.
-
Getawayfrommelucas Notebook Evangelist
Yeah I like the pirates one - without spoiling too much, you will enjoy it a lot more if you played AC3. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Yeah, they all say that.
Great, now I have to play AC III...
Maybe one day I will play other AC games past AC II.sasuke256 and Harryboiyeye like this. -

You don't have to play it but it really makes the plot that. much. more enjoyable. -
I enjoyed AC3, why it got such a backlash I dunno

Maybe we should be happy they graciously recommended only 3 GB of vRAM? xD.

didnt they say few weeks ago that they will better optimized their pc titles????680 gtx desktop for minimum?i think this isnt legit but im afraid that it will be still demanding..Maybe 660gtx for minimum.thats my guess
-
moviemarketing Milk Drinker
They said something about them being optimized for silky smooth cinematic 30fps, no? -
Found something interesting... Ubisoft engineer says Microsoft & Sony pressuring them 30fps on PC
EDIT: It is official. These are the specs, check THIS. -
Note there is not much difference between minimum and recommended. (and almost NO difference in case of the processor... especially the AMD ones)
Note, if that is true, there is NO way it will play well on a PS4 or XBone. (at least without massive nerfing)
Maybe they are actually developing a PC game this time? (AC4 was ok, but not great... if you paid any more than $20 for it, you got ripped off) -
HOLY S**T!!
So laptops won't be able to max it, sad day
-
dumitrumitu24 Notebook Evangelist
Only 980M can run this game on notebooks haha
-
Disgusting. With that minimum specs nobody will buy the PC version and heck, even the console versions are getting under 20 fps quite often. Ubi is again really poor with optimizing
-
moviemarketing Milk Drinker
Unbelievable! -
So just on the eve of replacing my 780M, a game finally comes out that it can't play even at minimum settings... wow. Ubisoft, what are you thinking? 99.9% of the laptop market is unable to play this. And a good 90% of the desktop market too. Do the visuals justify this level of hardware? I think not.
Ubisoft really are a mixed bag; Child Of Light is my GOTY 2014 so far and I'm eagerly awaiting Far Cry 4. But in the same year we also get Watch Dogs and now Assassins Creed Unity, which are not optimized well at all.
At least my future shiny 980M will be OK, but that's no comfort to the overwhelming majority of the laptop userbase. -
Is the 30fps also confirmed or only the specs? Because that is quite a hefty minimum/max requirement and as Kernal mentioned, it is basically the same specs for min and recommended.
-
Oh dear god if the single player is like this, can you imagine what will we need to play The Division... Probably 8 cores and 980 SLI... I am so worried about The Division
-
"Supported Video Cards at Time of Release
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or better, GeForce GTX 700 series; AMD Radeon HD7970 or better, Radeon R9 200 series
Note: Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT officially supported."
Assassinâs Creed Unity PC Specs - UbiBlog - Ubisoft® -
That was precisely what I posted above.
You did quote the best part though!!!
.... and yet this is so off I can't even comprehend it. How in the name of god will anyone be able to play it? Surely something is wrong.
Ubisoft is most definitely confused.moviemarketing likes this. -
Actually it makes perfect sense with thousands of npcs in sight every single demonstration video

Those AIs would be more taxing on the CPU than the GPU, no?
Haven't seen any insane visuals that suggest 680 for minimum, especially when these things are running on Xbone and PS4 hardware. -
It should still create problem for GPU rendering the frame no? well I don't know about the details how CPU and GPU communicates, can someone with more knowledge elaborate on this?? Could the features of Unity cause a crazy GPU hog?
-
Who they planing to sell it to?
Something very weird here.
Some sort of console conspiracy i smell.

Maybe they say tommorow that this is for 4K gaming haha
Btw no one mentioned that they listed 6gb ram as minimum like COD -
moviemarketing Milk Drinker
Haha especially when the game needs 680 just to hit "cinematic" 30fps @1080p? -
It sure does look heavy yeah.. wowLast edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015 -
Please oh god please 970m be able to run this
My favorite among P35x v3 Aorus x7 v3 and gs60 3k is still gs60

I liked black flag but they ruined it with bad optimization..I played it almost till the end with 20-30fps haha and getting over 30fps just on the sea while sailing..PS4 run it whole time 30fps on 1080p..Not fair cause i have a better cpu even though my gpu is bit weaker. So same story continues and its getting even worse
-
I honestly think assassins creed is my favorite series of games, black flag was incredible. Let's just forget 3 ever happened though.
BTW good to know 880m sli can at least reach recommended specs.

Not true, 780/290X is 50% faster than 680/7970.
Ofc it won't play well on consoles. Ubi$oft itself has already confirmed 900p30 on both PS4 & XB1, which is a last-gen console level experience. And realistically speaking even a locked 30 FPS probably won't be attainable. -
moviemarketing Milk Drinker
Haven't tried any of the AC games before, as I'm not a fan of the Uplay client. Maybe I'll try this one...whenever it goes on sale. -
Holy batman 4ghz? Either this game has trash CPU optimization (I.e. running everything on 1-2 cores) or there is a ridiculous amount of AI.
It isn't difficult to have a game require 4ghz, Sins of a Solar Empire is an ancient game but the recommended requirement is a 4.5ghz 3570k because of the insane late game lag due to only scaling across 1-2 cores. -
PlanetSide 2 as well. I think you need a 5+ GHz Intel to never drop below 60 FPS. Performance on AMD is awful.
Judging by the number of Frenchies in the videos, CPU is probably bottlenecked by draw calls more than AI in this game. -
Explains why it will run like crap on PS4/XB1. Just glad I'm not into any games these guys make, well Blood Dragon was awesome, but that was a fluke, a game born out of frustrated programmer trying to keep his sanity while working for Ubisoft. Gaming is going to hit a brick wall next year, PS4/XB1 are already struggling, and PC ports of major titles become worse.
