Sigh......i fear it's only going to get worse.

 

Eh its for BIS gear right in the beginning - I have no idea who would want to gimp the game like that but w/e.

 

So you pay out of your teeth for the game and you pay more to progress in it.. This is becoming like android mobile games...

 

It's even worse because the upfront cost is much higher on the AAA's. They're >$100 when all is said and done (base game + all DLC) while mobile games are F2P or cheap (<$5).

 

And then they go and let their marketing/pr teams release this

Winning over PC gamers with microtransactions in a full price $60 game with another $30-$40 in DLC? I just....I have no words.

 

As a PC gamer, I give absolutely zero cares about Ubisoft. Their actions speak louder than their words.

 

Mobile F2P games end up costing a fortune if you want to get anywhere though. I have a game where people have spent over 10k in a year to get a huge jump over everyone else.

It doesn't surprise me at all to see that business model expanding, its a very successful one.

 

Ubisoft have always been when its come to stuff like this.. Remember the DRM nonsence a few years back with the HAWX series etc?

 

Yeah I have no problem with this. Basically paying for cheats.

Its a perfect recipe for mad profit. VIP gives you exclusive heroes, exclusive advantages, and it's a social game with guilds, chat, and everything that comes with. People get competitive.

Yeah but spending 10 or 20K is way past reasonable. I seriously think they may have some psychological issues.

Like Splintah, I feel regret for not playing $10 games I buy during Steam sales lol

 

Pocket Knights is just one of those games that attracts big spenders. I'm not even VIP10 and I'm in over 2k. Although to be fair, I would have spent more money on alcohol and cigarettes in a year than I have on this game and since I stopped doing both of those, it doesn't bother me much. It came at a time where I was heading south fast so dropping two addictions that were deadly for one expensive game is justifiable in my mind. I still have 800 in game currency though and I refuse to spend any more.
