hey guys,
gaming system stats at the bottom.
just got the game today and have resolution on 1280x800
both graphics settings on 4/4 and shadows on 2/3. multisampling is 1/3 (off position?)
everything else on high or on.
Everything was smooth in the very first city.
as soon as I got out of it and headed toward Damascus in the "kingdom" area, the game stutters like crazy (< 15 fps i would guess).
I had to turn shadow off, both graphics to 3/4 to make it playable again.
my 7900GTX Go is overclocked a bit to 514 MHz
its running on 169.04 drivers; are there newer drivers that are also overclockable?
what settings are you guys using?
also is here a console inthe game that i can turn on and off options to show fps??
thanks

Dunno, u cant see FPS, if u use fraps its hard to tell the real number since it gets overwritten. I play on 7900GS on 1440x900 with all full ecxept AA and shadows which are at 2. Same thing happens to me, The kingdom kills my system. This may help:

I was able to play (On a DDR2 8600M GT) at 1280x800 with all in game settings maxed and keep above 20 FPS, usually above 25 FPS (Fraps overlay). The Kingdom area has really poor optimization so I wouldn't worry about it. If you really want to make the game look amazing in the cities, force 8xAF (Or 16x if you can handle it) in your graphics control panel, the difference is night and day.

I'd recommend using this guide to monitor your FPS.
-
thanks for the link -
i have the same problem, when your going form kingdom to kingdom the game stutters, it started happening with the new patch, the game is horribly optimized for pc, same thing for all console inports, when will they learn?
-
mm its not Horrible compared to Crysis you know, even Assassin's creed requirements were even higher than Crysis, i can get 46FPS average with SLI 7950GTXs.., but i feel all the other people who are having troubles, it just SUCKS when the game needs high hardaware to run on decent settings
-
I lowered the resolution to 1016x600 foe even better results.
Granted,my clocks are 575/700, but I think you could OC closer to my clocks.
Just use a lower resolution and the above settings or the 1280x720 res and 2/4 overall settings and you should be fine.
Also,get a goo video driver,from laptopvideo2go.com -
I know this is going to sound like boasting but mine plays this at 1920 with everything maxxed.
The game looks absolutely gorgeous and is never anything but choclatey smooth. -
Man wayneski , Amanda Tapping looks hot in your avy
Yea, I tried the game at 1920x1200 to see how it loks, maxed out, it`s awesome, although not playable for me -
eleron, try 175.16 it'll make it playable i think
-
Not at WUXGA, that`s the 8800M GTX`s field.
Apart from Crysis,AC,UT3 and Timeshift, I mostly play my games at WUXGA. If I have to lower the details too much, I go to the 4:1 pixel ratio (960x600) and max out the details... -
Eleron, she looks hot most of the time to me.....
-
I maxed this game smoothly with a single 8800 gtx, although I only played it for a couple days before gta hit the shelves. I'm not sure about the whole game though.
-
As for Assassin`s Creed, I can only give the game credit for its story.
Once you play it and finish it and look for proof of a sequel and find that there is none, well, it`s just a bitter taste... -
Eleron, how can you keep the custom settings in the INI file, since I set the res to 960 X 600 many times, it just changed to 640 X 480 when I run the game.
-
Ok, well, I designed a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel.
(at manage custom resolutions tab.)
You have to test it, and then all games should show that res as being available. -
Done it, thanks. Finally my Go 7900GS can play it decently :d

HELP!
I just brought Assassin Creed today but i cant get it to work. The problem seems to be my CPU processor.
Currently i have a Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz which i would have thought would be suitable to play this game but it seems its not...
PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE -
That's a pretty dated CPU. What kind of GPU do you have? (Graphic Card)
I'm guessing if this is a notebook, and you have a P4, your GPU is quite dated, so you probably just ate some money on a game you can't run.
