    a very promising notebook...I wonder how geforce 7600 compares to X 1600 in terms of the performace?

    The 7600 is the equivelant of the X1600. Found in Chaz's comparison here:

    I don't know the specifics but I think the ATI squeeks out a little more performance on the 7600.

    If my memory servers correctly the X1600 is better for OpenGL and the 7600 is better for Direct3d.

    Yeah, they *should* be similar.

    I haven't seen any performance benchmarks yet. I don't think you would be disappointed with either.
