Hey guys! About 2 weeks ago theres a member on here who said he would test the Sims 2 on the Asus G1S (with 2gb of ram and the 8600m GT) and post the result. The thing is I cant remember the name of this member and he said that in the G1S Owners Lounge, which is now like 100 pages long so im like not so willing to search for the results if he finally posted them haha. But yeah Im wondering how well would the G1S play the SIMS 2 on 5x5 lots with expansion packs and custom content? Thanks to you guys if you can help me, ive been searching for a concrete answer for long :D :)

The G1S can play Half-Life 2, Supreme Commander, Command and Conquer 3, Oblivion, even Bioshock. So I'm guessing that it'll struggle with the Sims 2, maybe like 20 FPS if you overclock.

    Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Sims 2 is like... one of the best PC game ever, it can run on any basic notebook with at least a fast processor and a Gig of memory. A video card like 8600GT can play it without any problem.

Thanks guys! I was worried cuz when you get custom content, on my present desktop, it tends to slow down and 5x5 lots are so slow like I get 7 FPS... LOL but i have like 728mb ram and a gefore fx5500 so... :D Thanks cant wait!

I play it on my old desktop with a 128mb Geforce 4 ti4600, and whilst it doesn't look very good, it runs adequately.

I've a 8600M GT in a Acer 5920 with 158.45 drivers and everything set to full, and first off, the loading times take forever. Plus there isn't lag as such, but the controls stutter. Turning on "smooth edges" (AA) really kills the frame rate. I have a feeling it's more down to loading stuff off the hard drive, that causes the poor performance.

Ohh... And what about 5x5 lots? Is it really slow?

oddly enough - i cant get the darn program to run on my brand new g1s-x1

i cant get it to update - it just stops about 30 seconds in and tells me it has an error updating file

when i actually run the game, it hangs before the logo can fully straighten out - this is ridiculous - im running the newest audio drivers and 169.04 drivers as well - ive set all of the permissions for every single folder in the ea folder to fully allow everything - i set the game to compatibility mode - and im running everything as an administrator - still, cant get past the friggin ea logo "challenge everything"

Try using the Graphics Drivers that ASUS provides on their support website. I've had problems using non asus drivers with some games in Vista.
