I would prefer the Asus. The GPU is much powerful than the 4670 in the Dell.

    the asus definitely.
from a price point perspective and graphics performance this is def the sweeter deal.
the i7 and ddr3 are sweet, but they wont make up for the comparatively limited graphic capabilities of the 4670

    Hmmmm.....

Am waiting on a new replacement of a G72GX-A1 from Asus from my G71GX because, well, in a matter of 3 months they replaced the graphics card, LED and a hard drive.

When I asked why they weren't replacing it with the same, I was informed that it was discontinued and this was the upgrade.

I actually got very lucky as Asus policy is absolutely no replacements after the 30 day mark... I guess I convinced them that my situation was a bit extreme.

In the switch the upgraded the 320Gb twins to 500Gb twin HDs...along with Win7 rather than Vista.

Tried for the Lamborghini upgrade but that was a no-go....

That Dell is pretty expensive, but it's got some nice parts. Yeah, I'd go with the Asus, but you could find a quad core version of it for probably another 100 or 200 dollars.

if ur willing to spend a little more for future proofing , i recommend that u get the ASUS G51J(15 inch) or G60J(16 inch) with core i7 processor , GTX260M , full hd screen(1920X1080) ... from $1499... if u want it inbetween these 2 , for gaming , get the ASUS G71... just make sure that u upgrade the CPU... if u can look for one ASUS G71 with Q9000... which should be around $1100... ASUS G71 is also a good choice as it supports 12GB ram(3X4GB RAM modules) although ASUS says 8GB is max... so basically ,

ASUS G71 with Q9000 and 6GB RAM... then upgrade to 12GB RAM...
