    Hello all,
I have an Asus G73 with the Intel i7 720 cpu, and the radeon HD 5870 card and a 120 gig solid state drive as the main drive (bought it at powernotebooks, those guys are really great to deal with). I use it primarily for gaming and graphics programs. My question has to do with the turbo boost (overclocking technology) that is operated by the manual button in the upper left of the machine.
I mostly race online (GTR Evo, Race On, games like that via STEAM) The other night I was in practice with about 20 other guys and the server had been set to "night" so there were stars and lots of lights in the environment. The FPS seemed a bit low so I hit the Turbo boost button and right away the FPS jumped up, but, the game kept re-synching and adjusting milliseconds after that. I tried leaving the game and rejoining with the same problem. As soon as I turned off "turbo boost" the re-synching issues would go away.
So, why would the factory overclock cause synching issues with steam? I don't see how the two are related, Unless it isn't a real overclock and more of a "buffer cache" type setting.
    Thanks in advance.
