OK so lots of people who own this laptop report +30 FPS but I get only 18 even on everything put to lowest, I know this is not normal, can anyone help me?
drivers are up to date, i think.
no major problems.
no antivirus enabled.
removed all bloatware and have only 50 processes running (which is good on vista)
can anyone PLEASE help? I bought this game based on some videos I saw as it looked like it runned fine on the G50VT-a1
specs:
T9400 / 4GB DD2 / 9800 GS
thanks

Not on power saving mode, right?
-
yeah its not on, its on "high performance" and its overclocked in this direct console
-
are you running on battery or are you plugged in?
-
Tried DOX optimized 185.20 drivers?
-
Have you tried running the game without OC from Direct Console? Still the same thing? Strangely enough, my M1730's X9000 used to run Crysis Warhead worse when OC'ed to 3.4 than when it was 2.8 (Middle levels of OC varied) I wonder if you have some sort of similar issue?

1) Update to Dox's drivers.
2) Make sure you have the 2nd patch applied for GTAIV
3) Make sure your system is plugged in.
4) Hope one of the three above was the problem -
Thanks SemiGamer,
The only thing I have not done is #1.
What I did do though, is go to Nvidia.com and download the latest notebook drivers, from what I see here it's not the same is it?
So I just have to google Dox's drivers and grab them? sure it's safe? -
DOX drivers are the best
I've been using them since I saw them on lapopvideo2go.com and I've had 0 problems. -
can anyone please point me to a driver of Dox's that works with my 9800 gs?
-
www.laptopvideo2go.com
Go on Forums, then Dox's customized forceware drivers
Download the right one and then
1) comletely uninstall your current driver
2) run driversweeper in safemode
3)reboot and install new drivers in safe mode
4)reboot and enjoy 5-6fps increase at the minimum.
Those pictures are awaiting approval btw -
DOX's 182.05 are superb for me and I have the same laptop as you.
Go for it! -
Tenspeed summed it up
Asus g50vt-a1 and GTA IV
