Hello everyone im knew to this and seriously need help.
Ive had this laptop for about a year now and its already terribly out of date, it can't run unreal tournament 3 even at a reasonable low level. It really does struggle running Stalker shadow of chernobly. I spent just over £1000 pound on a laptop last december and it is already out of date. The graphics card is ATI radeon x1450, 128mb. I looked on one website and it classed it at a grade 3 (whatever that is) Is this the main problem as the card is out of date or would an increase in ram from 1gb to 2gb help?
The dual core is 1.83ghz. Sorry if the information is too brief.
    Thanks oli

The rams will increase performance. But if it doesn't run it at all, rams will not help. I thought UT3 would easily run on your card, it does run BF2 and medium/low settings.

It does play it but the game is terribly laggy and the picture quality is very poor, even lower than low settings, i don't understand why it is. Imagine unreal tournament on the PS2 well the graphics are like that but a little poorer, your cant make out any details in game. Is there anyway i can boost my laptop to make it play newer up to date games?

The x1450 is an outdated card, esp for games that just came out. Upgrading the RAM will help overall system performance, but won't affect gameplay too much.

Follow the tweakguide and hope for the best.

Thank you i thought it might be. Here is a controversial question, is there anyway of installing a new card into my laptop? If so how much would it cost do you think and what make of card? Is there any store that can do it or a step by step page that will enable me to do it? Or is worth just getting a whole new laptop? Thank you very much for the reply though

the X1450 is not as powerfully as the new CPUs but it still has the ability to play most of the new games at medium gpu. just turn off AA . The X1450 has the ability to perform better then the X1600 on some games with OC. I can play unreal 3 easily. But my X1450 has 256 and hypermemory of 512
