Hey guys, I am looking at the Sony FW series of notebooks and I am liking it so far. One thing that I don't like is the Ati 3650.

I plan on getting the 1080p screen, and I might be playing some games. Nothing to extreme. Stuff like Counter Strike Source to Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress (maybe COD4). What settings would I need to lower in order to play these games at an acceptable FPS? (Acceptable meaning NEVER below 30) I will be playing these games at native res. Can anyone here that actually has the Notebook confirm this? Thanks.

Given that L4D is built on the Source engine, you should be able to max out games of that calibre on the 3450, let alone the 3650. As long as you don't play games along the lines of Crysis, the Radeon 3650 should be sufficient for your needs.

The hell? Max it on 1080p?

I would think that CSS would give me troubles at 1080p, but L4D? You sure? :p

Sorry, I missed the part about HD resolution.

I think CSS should be able to max out (with the exception of shadows, AA) as it is a fairly old game. Regarding L4D, I am not sure.

With alittle over clock, I can max out CSS at 1920x1200 with low shadows, no AA or AF. Tahts with a HD2600 GDDR3. The HD3650 is even faster.

TF2 and CSS can be played maxed out with AA off. You'll probably have to overclock a bit to get L4D to play maxed at 1920x1080.

I thought L4D was more demanding than that? I haven't played it, but I was thinking 1366 x 768 on high settings. CSS I'm sure will be fine at 1080p, it's more effected by cpu speed nowadays since GPUs are quite ahead of its time.

It is. I have no idea how you guys think it will play flawlessly at max details at 1920x1080 with a HD 3650. I have a 9600M GT and it will go below 30 FPS often with 1440x900 and medium details.
