Looking at the new HP DV6-2030 with the Turion II CPU and ATI 4530 GPU.

What sort of games can I expect to run well on with this GPU?

Old games. Nothing recent. Poor GPU. Not built for gaming.

Are there any games in particular which you're looking to run?

From the specs that I've seen, the ATI 4530 isn't much better than the 3450 that I recently owned. It ran high-end games like Assassin's Creed and Crysis, but at modest settings and with poor frame-rates. If you plan on playing easy-going games like Command and Conquer 3, it should do. Just don't expect it to fly with high-end titles.

I have a HD 3450 that Bog mentioned. I can run TF2 on mostly medium settings at 1280x800 with 30 frames give or take...

@Bog, how did your 3450 fail?

Honestly, I have no idea how it failed. Just yesterday I was playing Company of Heroes when I suddenly got a screen with blue and white vertical stripes. I turned off the machine, checked the bottom and found it to be very hot; unusually hot, in fact. The machine never had cooling problems, and the inside had no dust whatsoever. There was no logical reason for the failure, but it did fail.

I've pretty much had it with laptops; 3 models failing in 4 years is ridiculous and expensive. I'm just going to keep my frugal yet tough ThinkPad as a mobile machine and spend my money on a decent desktop rig.

Wow, I would have expected more from the 4530. I thought it would have been on par with the 3650.

I guess the 3650 is more like the 4570?

Since it only has a 64 bit bus, it will be crippled when it comes to resolutions higher than 1440 x 900. I recommend the 4650 or higher.
