    Hey Mike,

    Did you notice the release notes for desktop and mobility version. They are totally different. I guess that must be the same driver, but only differences were written in that notes. It looks that video enhancements and some speed gain are the most important thing in this release.

    I will install the modded desktop version and new avivo converter.

    Cheers,

    Ivan

    Perfect... I spent 6 hours last Saturday trying to get my new ATI x1600 card working in my desktop. A new one should be on it's way to me, so now I'll have new drivers to try when I get it.

    Powerplay works the funny way it used to work always on my comp (optimal battery is actually worse battery saver than optimal performance).

    Cheers,

    Ivan

    Graphics technologies supported

    * Mobility™ Radeon® X800
    * Mobility™ Radeon® X700
    * Mobility™ Radeon® X600
    * Mobility™ Radeon® X300
    * Mobility™ Radeon® 9800
    * Mobility™ Radeon® 9700
    * Mobility™ Radeon® 9600

    So why isn't the x1x00 series listed? They don't have any driver at all for that???? sux big time.... And the manufacturers usually arn't that good to upgrade their drivers too..

    LOL ikovac, that's so strange.

    So the mobility and radeon drivers are different? I must check this out.

    Anyway I'm going to try these out tonight since I got my baby back to me :D

    Edit:: I thought manufacturers drivers were just the reference drivers with an edited inf or ini file to identify their own products. This is why I always went with reference drivers ever since the good old 3dfx and banshee days. :D
