That's it? After all this time, that's all they can come out with? Nvidia really seems to be far ahead of the pack, with the 8800 just around the corner.
    128-bit 4-channel DDR2/GDDR3 memory interface

nvidia has always been ahead of amd/ati with mobile gpus with the exception of the geforce 5/fx and ati 9xxx generation.

Yes, but nvidia aside, I would have expected a bit more to come from ATI.

x1600 and x1700 did pretty well too. And it's a shame the HD 2600 isnt getting as much love from manufacturers. It's a good card, the DDR3 has real potential but the only manufacture using it that i know of is HP, in it's 8510P

I just compared the specs between the 2700 and 2600 on the amd/ati website and I fail to see a difference. It appears that they just cut and pasted so I wonder if this is actually correct.

Maybe it's just overclocked, like the 8600-->8700 was?

I'm also dissapointed by the lack of ATI support. I get tired of seeing 99% of posts here about the 8600m.

But I also like the fact that ATI is simply providing an alternate graphics solution as opposed to just trying to beat out nVidia with power.

And as little love as te HD2600 series gets, it is one helluva mobile graphics card.

Hooray for AMD/ATI releasing too little, too late again! Cyrix is what happens when you keep this up.

x1700 was the same specs as the x1600.

It was worse because atis own utilities werent compatible with it.

I believe it's just a renamed HD 2600XT, hence the lack of hype from ATI.
