    Hey

I have a little problem with my laptops graphic card (Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4570). It cant play Left 4 Dead 2 even at lower settings without sticking and lagging, though in this youtube video YouTube - LEFT4DEAD 2 ( l4d2 ) gameplay part 23 (acer aspire 5536g) ,left 4 dead 2 can be played on high settings smoothly without any problems. I have the exact same laptop as used in the video, except i have Vista instead of 7. what could the problem be? Heres the details of my laptop.

Acer Aspire 5536g 15,6 inch HD LCD; 1366x768. AMD Athlon 64 x2 processor QL-64 (2.1 GHz); Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4570 (512 MB VRAM); RAM :4GB memory; 320 GB HDD DVD Super Multi DL drive

I would guess that this could be driver related, as Windows 7 includes updated drivers compared to Windows Vista.
Have you tried getting the newest AMD chipset drivers offered by Acer (That supports your notebook) and installing ATI Catalyst 10.5 for notebooks?

Have you made sure the option for for dual core cpu was turned off, can't remember which in game menu it's in. I remember some mentioning an issue, but when they unchecked the use multicore cpu box it got better.

1 - make sure you're running in native resolution

2 - if it does have something to do with the dual core, right click the process in task manager and set affinity to only 1 of the 2 cores.

    3 - update drivers

    4 - patch game

5 - make sure your power settings are high performance

I cant think of anything else...

Yeah, check to make sure its not running in powersaver mode or the like.

Because even my measly 3470 can play it.

Can you use GPU-Z to check the clocks ??? maybe you have the acer bios bug that clocks the memory to 500 MHz when PowerPlay is enabled
