i'm just about to order a e1505/6400 in Canada. I was wondering what video card would be better. The ATI is going for an extra 100 bucks, while the Nvidia is going for 150! Is it really worth the extra 50 bucks? or should i just stick to the ATI. I plan on playing sims 2 so would i notice a difference between either one?

The ATI card is a better card. The go7400 is more comparable to the X1400. No idea what dell was thinking by chargin more for an inferior card.

I agree the X1400 is around 25% faster than the 7300. I'm really not sure why they charge more for a weaker card. Go for the ATI! :)

please post video card questions in the gaming forum. This topic has been discussed several times already and Chaz has a guide that gives details about which is better.

Are these cards fit into the Express card slot on the right side of the laptop?

    hi all,

i read the msg posted by Chaz on choosing the right Graphic Card for a laptop.
it was really great and helpful, thanx man :)
but there are few questions which came into my mind, perhaps someone could gimme a hand.
well, i was abt to get a laptop frm Dell and i was caught in the same situation, to choose between NV's 7300Go and ATI's X1400.
the thing is, i've gone thru many forums like this one and i've found out that 7300Go has actually 64Mb of dedicated RAM and the rest of the 128Mb are actually shared RAM, while the X1400 has 128Mb dedicated RAM while the rest are shared with the system. (guys, pls correct me if there is any mistake here)
now, there are few claims that NV's TurboCache which is hardware orientated performs better than ATI's HyperMemory (software orientated)
which one is better in the terms of its memory?cos i heard that NV's TurboCache can maximise the 256Mb
by the way, can anyone pls explain to me what is clock memory and what is vertex pipeline(s)?on these: which one is better?the lower the better?the higher the better?
and my final question is, are these graphic cards integrated?can it be replaced?
    thanx in advanced
