Please note that I haven't tested this software myself since Im not suffering from this issue but since there are a lot of people out there that the current known tweaks seem to fail this might help them out.

Of course some users already reported that this is working or else i wouldn't be posting it.

    Download

If you do try the software please post your results.

I saw this and remembered a few people (including mandrake i think ? :p) that couldn't fix the problem even with the .inf tweaks, just hoping this will help them out, especially with M17x getting the ATI's too and might suffer from the same issue :p

    you know what's sick?

this has been a consistent problem with ATI since at least 2004 when I got my x800 pro.

The funny thing is that some drivers fixed the issue (although the newest ones still suffer from this) and some people complained in their forums because they wanted the "black bars" back :p

Basically its an issue affecting some users with ATI cards, when you play a game with a lower resolution than your native black bars appear around the screen and the game doesnt fill the whole screen.

That's not really an issue, it's more of a preference... I'd rather play a game in proper aspect. It's like stretching SDTV full-wide on an HDTV. Everything is just flat and squat.

Yeap the quality will always be better in the native resolution instead of stretching it but playing at 1440x900 for example while your native resolution is 1920x1200 it looks... well you cant see many things :p
