I am mainly starting this poll as a psyc experiment to see how people view graphics cards and i will get the best i can find no matter what the brand
and i apologise for any bad posts i made in other threads![]()

Ill get whatever GPU offers the best performance for the price.
I dont think Nvidia sucks even though I have an ATI.
Although I do prefer ATI I dont hate Nvidia. -
I voted for best available for the money, brand aside... but it really depends on your application.
For a Windows only machine, choose whatever card has the best price/performance ratio this week.
For a Linux or dual boot machine, choose nVidia. ATI's linux drivers have really improved in the last few years, but for performance AND stability nVidia still has the edge.
If you've bought a Mac, you'll take whatever Steve Jobs gives you and like it. -
I like my X1400 and x200 a lot. No comparison between x200 and any other intergrated. Bye bye intel exrtremeXD
-
I really don't care, right now they are pretty evenly matched. but "the best you can find" right now for a laptop is easily Nvidia, becuase even if you can find an x1800, the 7900GTX, and any sli laptop are still better.
-
I take whatever offers the best bang for my buck. I've had both ATI and Nvidia and I've been satisfied with both. I'd buy any of them again.

It's pointless to be a fanboy for either brand, you just wind up screwing yourself as a consumer.
It's like buying a GeForce Ti4600 when the Radeon 9700 Pro came out, or buying a Radeon Crossfire system instead of assembling an SLI rig. -

Things are always changing, at one time ATI might have the best card for the best price, and everyone will be ATI ALL THE WAY. But then Nvidia answers ATI's card and the balance of power shifts to them, and the whole thing starts over. Ha, I can actually say I'm in the midle, I have an ATI card in my desktop, and an Nvidia card in my laptop. Right now Nvidia is really holding strong with the 7900gs (which is a beast of a card) but if ATI prices there x1800 competitivley ATI could become the favorite (but I doubt this will happen, ATI never goes cheap on there flagship modle cards, especially on a laptop).

But right now, ATI is dominating.

the results are what i expected but i thought ati had a greater popularity on this
forum -
Oh well. Some people just like the GLA and terrorists... (Green remember). Red stands for Hitler and power!!

I think it should read 'best you can afford'. Whether it turns out to be ATI or Nvidia is inconsequential
Or if you don't game and 3D app at all, just get Intel integrated and just be done with it
-
both are good
i curretly have ati
i hade a nvidia 2- 3years ago -

Its a well known fact fanboys have a maximum IQ of 80, and those are rare. Dont be an Nvidiot or fanATIc, support good products and get the best for your money otherwise you can only hurt the industry.

When it actually arrived, it:
1. Had middling driver quality.
2. Had middling performance.
3. Had compatibility issues.
4. Required a "Master" card.
Of these four, the first three have been resolved. And it's worth pointing out that nVidia had the same problems when SLI first hit. But nVidia fixed them QUICKLY.
Crossfire is a kludge, and needing to have a special "Master" Crossfire card that winds up costing more than most of the other cards in its class is absurd.
nVidia did it first and did it best (I don't EVEN want to hear it from the 3dfx geeks), and they tend to work the bugs out of their implementations in a hurry. Crossfire's still playing catchup. -

At the top end, though, the Go 7800s and 7900s are ubiquitous compared to the Mobility X1800. Once again, ATI makes an anemic showing in the mobile market's performance sector.
If you want to talk desktop, ATI hasn't "dominated" nVidia since the Radeon 9xxx series.
ATI is, however, murdering nVidia in IGP sales, though nVidia's gaining back some share, but this is one party they were definitely late to.
Maybe someone else can corroborate or dispute this, but has anyone noticed that in this generation of mobile parts, nVidia's GPUs seem to be better at conserving power and generating less heat? When you get to the smallest notebooks that are still running dedicated graphics, they're all using Go 7400s. And I've read that the A8Jm generates less heat than the A8Ja, which uses an X1600. Anyone else want to chime in? -

I would go with ATi in my laptop only if it was a really good deal. But for my desktop, it's ATi all the way. Alright, nVidia has the best "budget" card with the 7600, and sure, the 7950GX2 rocks... but AA+HDR=ATi and that's enough for me to make a decision.

Hehe. I go with NVIDIA mainly because they actually have decent Linux support, as well as their drivers tending to have fewer bugs when you get into real 3D work. ATI's cards are darn fast, but it's the full experience I need
Ati,Nividia or the best i can find
