Ok so I wan't to be able to play BF3 on higher settings with a higher framerate so I'm going to overclock my graphics card.
I downloaded MSI afterburner is there anything else I should download? I heard something about ThrottleStop? Do I need it?
Right now these are my settings
Core voltage set on minimum
Core clock is at 775
Shader clock is at 1550
Memory is at Minimum
Fan speed is at Minimum
These are my specs-
Asus G53SX-DH71
2.2 GHz Intel i-7 2670QM Quad Core
12 GB DIMM
750 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive
Nvidia GTX 560M 2GB GDDR5
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I'm a noob when it comes to computers so can someone tell me whats safe to change my settings to?

Please understand fully what overclocking is and the possible results before embarking on overclocking.

essentially you pull up a game of bf3, campaign is preferred but multiplayer will do, then adjust the core clock up in 5 MHz increments until it either gets to the point you feel comfortable at or it artifacts or crashes to desktop. then lower it by 10mhz and it should be stable, also make sure you set all the settings to what you will be playing at.

No one can tell you what is safe to change your settings to because every chip is different. What may be safe for one could damage another or crash etc. You need to test in small increments as suggested.

Also should I download ThrottleStop? -
You can try fan speed although i think its controlled by the bios.
Overclocking the memory on your 128bit version of the 560m should be quite effective in boosting performance, because the normal 560m has a 192bit bus, and therefore 50% more memory bandwidth.
Also im not sure what you mean by memory is set at minimum msi afterburner should give a value just like the core and shader. if you have moved it down to the minimum value, it will reduce performance. You would want to set it to the stock 1250mhz.
if you notice that increasing the memory clocks past stock does not improve performance then just set them back to the stock value of 1250.
no you dont need throttlestop since you cant overclock sandybridge cpus.

Also yes it wont let me touch the fan speed, will I need to? and what are the dangers of increasing fan speed?
Attempting first overclock but Need some tips
