    Whoah, that is amazing.

It's been AGES since a Street Fighter game has been released. I'm off to find a high definition version of that trailer.

I can't wait. I really hope CAPCOM makes it live up to everyone's expectations.

Because 2-D fighters play completely differently from 3-D ones? Because 2-D fighters are a dying art? Switching to 3-D changes the gameplay drastically, and half-hearted attempts to merge the play styles of either one have been mediocre bordering on out and out failures (see: King of Fighters: Maximum Impact, Street Fighter EX series).

I really hope they stick with 2-D for Street Fighter IV. While the move to 3-D ultimately wound up serving Mortal Kombat well, the Street Fighter EX series bordered on abysmal. Street Fighter is a 2-D institution and that's where it needs to stay.

It better be 100x better than Street Fighter EX3, because that game sucked balls. Perhaps they will make this game like Okami represented by its trailer, where it is a 2D canvas of water colors with fighters duking it out instead of in 3D. It's strange for me to say this, but sometimes, the real world just looks way too damn ugly.

/me also looks to Guilty Gear 2: Overture in hopes it doesn't fail at the transition

ok, if NBR ever gets together, we are having a arcade-like fighting games tourney:
    - Capcom classics: SF2, SF2 Turbo, SSF2 Turbo, SFA3/SFZ3
    - Capcom recents: SF3 Third Strike, XvS, MvC, MvC2
    - Others: Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur

I gots my X-Arcade sticks collecting dust for a while now.

Street fighter ex series was by arika and they did a terrible job. 4 is gonna be all capcom's doing.

Other series such as DOA, Tekken etc. have flourished in 3d though street fighter is a much more fast paced game.

I swear when I saw that trailer when it was released the other day, I thought it was for a street fighter movie or something. It's an awesome trailer, but it tells you jack **** about the game -_-

And Forerunner already mentioned it, but Capcom didn't actually create the EX series games, which could be why they aren't so good. Plenty of other fighters are in 3d, but few have made the transition between 2d and 3d well, I think it's possible though, and that it would be nice.

I personally have had more fun playing Tekken 5, and then I ever had playing any Street Fighter, but that's just me I guess.

^ Here here. Yeah it might be interesting if they incoporate it to be a cgi game a la team fortress 2. A CGI with caligraphy style art like that would look amazing and just take a new route for visuals when compared to the other 3d fighters out right now.
