Awful, Fifa 09

well i went out and brought Fifa 09 and i have to say its a very weak attempt. i know the controls would be easier on a controller but wow they are poor and the game stuttered for me ALOT though it was playable, fast movements like counter attacks make the screen stutter badly and i had to reduce the setting

im gutted, what a waste of money.

 

Yeah, I played the demo, didn't like it at all.

I'm playing PES 2009 demo right now and I have to say, it's pretty awesome. Give that a try, you'll like it if you don't like FIFA.

Turn off antialiasing and Anisotropic filtering. If they are set to on that's why you have lots of stuttering. EA games handle both of those very poorly.

 

its not that the game not good, on consoles - well atleast 360 its great but on the PC its weak. i turned off antialiasing and anisotropic filtering, didnt have anything running in the background and it was still stuttering - okay not as much as before but it shouldnt be stuttering at all

Fifa's have been fairly weak on the PC lately, when compared to consoles...
I'm diggin' my 09 on Xbox360, 1080p on 40" Full HD TV - fabulous!!

im at uni so i cant get a 360 and TV to play it on, well i could buy them but i odnt have enough room and i need the money to buy food, but who needs food when you can play Fifa 09 on a 43inch full HD tv

 

My friend uninstalled Fifa 09 right after he tried the PES09 demo.
@ArmageddonAsh: what do you think about the graphics? Is it comparable to PES? Fifa 08 was a disappointment when it came to graphics! The PC version only has current gen graphics compare to console next-gen graphics. I hope EA is not doing the same thing again. Giving PC, where there is loads of pirate, worse graphics than console.

 

It is a big shame that more and more attention is being shifted to console development... although its not surprising, given the problems plaguing the PC platform.

 

very true, but piracy affects consoles aswell - it may be harder to play hacked games on consoles but it still can be done.

Before flaming a game, please do some research...

The game is wonderful, playing at 70FPS + with 4XAA Via NVCP, the problem with stuttering can be simply fixed, i use to get something in 20s... go to your Fifa 09 directory, then data, then cmn, then open the cfg_pc_h file and change


RENDER_RATE_MODE = 7 to
RENDER_RATE_MODE = 3 and enjoy this wonderful football game its very wonderful, and i'm pleased with it a bunch, AA totally makes it heaven.

 

why should i have to go through files and chnage thing, why couldnt they make the game without us having to go through files changing everything.

whats NVCP?

Hey, i got the same problem and after doing some research i finally got the answer.. well at least for me. Here are some of the things i tried:

1. Start fifa 09, minimize it, and go to the task pane and under processes change the fifa one affinity to two cpu's.

That should make it alot better... i barely get stutters in high detail
