thought id start a new thread instead of you all having to read through all the other threads.
also if you are still playing the game you should of already seen the header on the B3 website.
the solution > Solution to the R - Blog - Battlelog / Battlefield 3
had my first two full games in a row without any crashes yay![]()
-
-
well I tried that and still i get crashes. what exactly did you do? did you delete all the previous pb files in the bf3 folder, and then run a manual pbsetup?
-
i didnt delete anything. just ran from the link and it checked for updates and then loaded.
i only had 2 games yesterday so i could be jumping the gun and it will crash again tonight but im hoping not. -
Does it really fix the crashing issue? I did test it with a PB enabled server and I didn't experience any crash but I only played for 20 minutes or so
-
i will find out tonight as i will be on a mission to play for as long as my eye will let me.
-
I always keep my punkbuster updated because that has always been a cause of server drops in the past, but I still get occasional crashes.
-
Well incase anyone is wondering, I fixed my problem. I think. I deleted all the punkbuster files in the origin games/battlefield3 folder, installed punkbuster manually with the link in from OP, the restored my 854/2280 overclock to STOCK. I could play a full game with 1000 tickets without any issues, will continue to test. I guess we cant overclock until ea/dice gets their together....
-
so much for the solution. 4 full games. first game a crash within the first minute and then 2 crashes per game after that.
back to the drawing board -
yeah mine started crashing again too. If I join servers with a high ping (50-80) it doesnt happen so often but then the games lags due to ping
-
x(
Guess my intuition was right
How many players were at the server at that time, I had only 3 on my 20-minute run -
32 players, but I dont think that matters really...
-
64 a side on mine.
just once could i please reach the end of a game to see my points go on as im killing loads lately. F5 to see the points is just no fun. -
ive now had 5 quick matches today on various servers and every single one crashed half way through each game.
the interesting thing was each time i hit reconnect to game the servers can not be found.
so could this problem a lot of us are having have nothing to do with drivers and its actually the dodgy setup of servers??? -
update so far on this, its crap
tried about 8-10 servers now and they all seem to do the same crash but theres no pattern to it as i can have one full round without crashes and then have 2 or 3 in the next round.
finally managed to get some video clips so here ya go:

could this be a problem with nvidia drivers/optimus? bf3 would crash all the time when I played on my 650m, even in single player.
-
tried 3 different drivers now but i guess it could be something to do with optimus, im just not sure.
no problems with any other game and all the single campaigns including B3 played flawlessness -
The latest nvidia driver works flawlessly for me now. have you tried it yet?
-
not tried that one yet as been told it was only mainly for windows 8 and no mention of B3 in the tech spec for this driver.
was you getting crashes like videos above. if so ill defo try the latest tonight.
will be playing warfighter from thursday so B3 will take a back seat for a while. lets just hope its not a origin or punkbuster problem. -
Well not quite like that no but sometimes i did get your problem that people would be running but standing still, like in one of your vids...
-
i will try the latest ones tonight then
cheers
edit:
306.97 loaded.
windows score jumped from 7.1 >> 7.7 for graphics 7.9 for everything else.
3dmark06 > 23074 > 23075
vantage > P21501 > P21997
3dmark11 > P6128 > P6173
now the moment of truth, time to game. -
oh well back to the drawing board. 306.97 still the same. 1 full game and then 3 crashes in second game. gave up after that.
will wait and see how these new beta drivers are before i install. -
exit nvidia toolbar before starting the game, i dont crash anymore after i went to 306.97 though, toolbar or no toolbar
-
toolbar??? where is this. didnt know i had one.
all i have loaded is nvidia inspector, core temps and battlelog webpage.
i will be playing warfighter from the 26/10 so hopefully that wont have the same problems as ive heard its more demanding than B3
if it still crashes then it could be down to origin or punkbuster. -
its that icon in the toolbar where you find the nvidia logo and change settings
-
the only one i got there is the nvidia logo which takes you to nvidia control panel.
now this is strange. yesterday i changed my default ultra settings all to high....... and i havnt had a crash since. i will be playing it to death tonight as warfighter from tomorrow so B3 will take a back seat.
edit:
once again scrap that. first game tonight and it crashed within the first minute. -
I dont have any problems now whatsoever, I think the punkbuster/origin issue is gone since origin updated itself yesterday. try reinstalling origin and bf3 also use the newest nvidia driver.
if all else fails try win8
performance seems to be better anyways
Sent from my XT910 using Tapatalk 2 -
thats good to hear. nice one.
im still getting the crashes and even in moh warfighter multiplayer.
think its going to have to be a windows install for me but got 200gb used up alrready and over 100 of that is games
w8 no way
