okay, i know tomarrow another (yes another) chapter of WWII gaming comes out in MoH:Airborn, but I was wondering what your guys' favorite WWII game is for multiplayer? The following are what I'm considering buying...
Call of Duty 2
Red Orchestra (meh, not sure about this one)
Day of Defeat Source
what is the best online ww2 experience? feel free to suggest other games too but i believe those are the most played online right now...
thanks guys.

COD 2 (10 characters).

Battlefield 1942 + Expansions and Call of Duty 1+2+3 are good. Red Orchestra is great if you're into that "realism" stuff, but DoD:S just sucks.
-
wow, your the first person to tell me htat DoD source sucks, from what i heard it was right up there with COD2...
red orchestra frustrated me but they did improve the graphics from what i saw after playing the free multiplayer experience this weekend (which ends in a couple hours i believe)... -

I love COD2, amazing graphics and gameplay.
Be warned though, the gameplay gets very repetitive after a while...I haven't even finished COD2 yet and I'm bored to death because it's just the same thing over and over again pretty much. -
DoD doesn't suck? What gives you the right to say that? It's a matter of personal preference, you are not giving any constructive criticism. DoD is good if you are going to play on lower end systems and the graphics are still very good, loading times are low. BF1942 is a bit outdated but it's always fun to play once in a while but I personally don't find it very immersive any more. Red Orchestra is a good game although I rarely play it. I pushes very hard on the realism aspect but in my opinion they go too far and it affects the game play and the graphics are a bit outdated. If they ported it to the new Unreal Engine it would be AWESOME!

My personal favorite WWII shooter is free: Wolfenstien Enemy Territory. Give it a try, you literally have nothing to lose. I liked it because the modding community is absolutely huge, the server browser and update managers are both quite robust and simple to use, the weapons and classes were extremely well balanced and all necessary, the team-based combat was amazing, and the objective system is refreshing. I am sick of games where the only objective is to stand next to the flag and wait for it to change color, or to kill x number of enemies. W:ET has the slickest objective system I've seen, and its the first game where I've actually felt that every class is necessary in its unique way, not just to rack up kills. The only downside I see is the lack of drivable vehicles, but there are plenty of mods that address this and the custom maps are some of the best I have ever played. Also, the XP system is great, and the presence of XP-save servers have expanded this system to become almost RPG-like.
Graphics are outdated, true, but not terribly so. Once I got into the game, I found that I rarely noticed the graphics, and they never once detracted from the immersiveness of the game. -
First, I was talking about the remake of DoD, DoD:S. They made all of the weapons less accurate and only ported a fraction of the original maps. Then they slapped on a bombing mode (a la CS) to try to make up for the real problems.

Personally, I've always been a MoH fan since the beginning; MoH:AA. And I am very excited for MoH:A. Though, besides that, I find that CoD 1 & 2 both have great gameplay as well.
-
how do you think MoH:A will be for multiplayer? i hope its good !!

IGN claims the multiplayer is awesome and the parachuting adds a new dimension to the gameplay. I personally have my doubts, as beyond that it seems like the average shoot-everything multiplayer gameplay. It should be fun for awhile, at least.

Well, from what I've read/seen it looks promising. Multiplayer for MoH games have yet to disappointment me. Hell, they were one of the first WWII FPS franchise around aside from Wolfenstein. I always loved the multiplayer for MoH.

cant wait to pick up my copy of moh:a

The multi-player for COD2 on the other hand is...not very noob-friendly. 90 percent+ of the people on there are experienced players and will pwn the heck out of you. You'll probably think their hacking.

20 dollars is hard to come by for a 14 year old with no job, =(

Brothers in arms is the best game ever.
Its the closest to reality. Try playing with a 7.1 speakers set, and you will be shouthing "grenade!" or "i need more ammo!" uncounsciously. Seriously, it makes me horny -

That is...disturbing...
Play COD2 with surround sound, it will amaze you. -

Haha. I was thinking the same thing lawlz lol. Quite disturbing.
Yeah, any WWII game for the most part sounds amazing in surround sound. -
COD2 so far has one of the biggest WWII online community. I used to play Battlefield 1942....it pwns !!
-
CoD2 is a great game. But as lawlz said, the online community is HARDCORE. Back when I used to play quite a bit, I was at a LAN Party and was accused of hacking by multiple professional gamers from IZ3D because I was so good. And I wasn't even close to being great online. I normally only finished around 10th in a 64 person server.
BEST multiplayer WWII shooter
