Guys beware of the new 275.33 drivers they will put extra wear on your gpu and possibly damage from what i've read.
Anyway my story. I can't remember if this was before or after i installed these drivers, but my Gfs toshiba was overheating bad getting to 105C while gaming and would shut down.
Long story short i re-pasted the cpu and gpu, and cleaned the heatsink and fan. I used antec 7 by the way if anyone wanted to know its a diamond compound and i must say it is very good.
So i went from 100's to like 86C load while gaming, so i thought that was still very high. So being puzzled as why the temps were still high i decided to change the drivers and research the current ones i had.
Like i mentioned before there were alot of problems being posted with the 275.33 and very serious ones, i wish i knew about this before. What would happen to me even after the temp drop. The fps was choppy and sometimes would drop to like low 12-15fps like the card was just dying.
So i downloaded the new quadro drivers that just came out 275.65 drivers as i read they helped a person. You have to mod the .inf file to get them installed for your card unless you have a quadro card.
You can go to laptopvideo2go.com and go to their forums and go to the 275.65 driver for windows 7 x64 and in the comments section they explain how to mod the inf to get them installed for your card.
Anyway now i am at 73C on load after the new drivers, and awesome performance no more fps drops and hick ups.
thought i would just warn everyone who might of installed them like me without ever researching them.
Good luck

cool story bro
i pwnd myself lol -
Well its time to the new drivers soon?
-
What GPU is it?
-
What is your GPU & what is your score in 3dmark 06??
-
Actually if you download the drivers today, they're corrupted and can't even extract them.
-
I've been using them for about two weeks now and I've not had any problems, but I think I will change them... you all scared me into it!
-
i didnt run any benchmarks. Appendix i had them for about the same time they always ran hot i thought the 85C was normal for the toshiba, then after 2weeks maybe a bit longer, they started completely acting up. Like i said fps diving down to like 10fps in counter strike source which isnt a very intensive game. And also alot of microstutters, just horrible. When i changed them got temps lower by like 15C!
I have the 9800m gts -
275.33 has worked just fine for me.
-
275.33 on my dekstop (Galaxy 460 gtx) no problems at all for weeks now.
-
275.33 threw up driver errors the first time I ran my card overclocked after installing them
The 275.50 Beta drivers though are working brilliantly for me, giving my GT 555M a noticeable performance boost.
-
nvidia just released the 280.19 version beta. what's the difference between all these drivers???
Graphics Driver - Verde 280.19 Driver - GeForce -
You get to brag about having the latest drivers.
Many are supposed to fix issues or increase performance; but those are mainly reflected in the WHQL drivers. Beta are just for people who want the "latest and greatest". -
I just installed the 280.19 and ran the free version of 3d Mark 11 and saw a 10 point improvement; went from 1950 points on the 275.33 drivers to 1960 on the 280.19 drivers (using a 460m GTX). Going to test them while gaming a bit later so I'll keep you posted.

I just tested these drivers a bit more today. I ran 3d Mark 06 and saw about a 200 point improvement when compared to the old drivers. While playing Bulletstorm (maxed out) the GPU reached a max of 72 C so not too bad. However, the blood in the game had green areas so I'm guessing not all the shaders are working properly, so I think I will revert back to 275.33.

yeah performance is mostly the same with drivers every now and then you will get a really good driver with very good performance. The biggest issue for me is temp.
Like i said the 275.33 for me just ended up sucking really bad after a few weeks. -
I mean i have noticed the difference, even on my 9600 desktop card sometimes the frames would slow and stutter in alot of action like boomed zombie horde in l4d2, but now after the quadro drivers runs super smooth.
I mean it does make sense since these are top class drivers developed extremely well since they work on workstation cards, and i believe other huge companies chip in also making them.
But the other side of the argument is they aren't optimized for gaming, but yet again workstation graphics is more labor intensive so the drivers are optimized for that.
Anyway sorry to go off on a rant lol, please if you get a chance to install those drivers and run 3d mark that would be great. -
hi m8 i was running the quadro driver but now i installed 280 driver im the in alfa test so i want the most stable one with the game but any how i ran a couple of 3dmar Vantage with the quadro and with the 280 and im getting the same gpu points and BF3 is running very stable with both and is all other games
