    BF 1942, BF Vietnam, BF2, BF 2142

    I never got into gaming before BF2, except a little bit with Soldier of Fortune. I tried WOW, BFME 2 and few other strategy games. Nothing got me hooked as much as BF2. I work eight hours a day, married and have a child. I still make time to get at least an hour of BF2. The gameplay, ribbons and ranks keep you going and going. It's a great game. I started a little bit late and all of my friends are much better ranked than I am. With BF 2142 comming up I am looking forward to starting from day one, but it seems unfair for higher ranked players to leave their ranks and start over again, or doesn't it work like that?

    This poll is for if you think EA should take this into consideration and keep the ranks as they are, like they did with special forces and european union and add some new ribbons and badges, and even some new ranks? Or should every player start over?

    To me it would be unfair for ranks to carry over to an entirely new game. Keep the ranks intact for BF:2 and all it's expansions, but not to an entirely new incarnation of BF.

    It would be lame to have the same person jump into a game he has never played and be so far ahead, If I jumped into 2142 and saw that same Blazin.Uk bastard at the top of the list and ahead of me by 300,000 or so on the first day I would return the game!

    I want them to start your rating from the begining. BF2 and BF 2142 are totally seperate games and should not be joined.

    Its going to be a modified ranking system anyways, and the awards and everything will be differant...there would be no point nor would i believe them to ever carry over the ranking...its not modern day combat, its the future!

    Why would they give you rank for fighting you did an awards that are not heard of in the new sci-fi future setting? They won't.

    They should be rated seperately from one another. Just because they put the hours in on the older game doesn't mean they should have any rating advantage in the new one.

    I played battlefield from 1942 to bf2 and everytime i played a new game it was a chance of fresh start, besides if they carry ranks over from the old game the game would turn out like Windows Vista (delays, delays, delays) and also reduces feature introduction
