Im doing a poll to see how many of you are playing BF 2142 or BF 2on a laptop. If possible could you make an entry as to what your specs are on you laptop.

This poll has a flaw... what if you play both games on a laptop such as I?

7950 GTX, 2 GB RAM, 2.16 Ghz Core 2 Duo on max settings at 1280x1024 resolution.

I ran BF2 at all setting medium, native res, though I overclock my GPU when I'm gaming and use modded drivers.

I play BF2 on all high settings at the higest resolution allowed on my laptop and there is no lag.

Is BF2142 the same graphics and resource/RAM wise as BF2?

I play both BF2 and BF2142 on my laptop, not as much as I used to though.

    BF2 runs on medium-high settings + 2xAA.

    BF2142 runs on mostly medium-couple high settings + 2xAA.

All BF series look like crap without AA, IMO.

Highest possible ingame settings with max AF and 4x AA at a 1920x1080 resolution with no problems at all.

With the exception of somtimes issues inside a titan, but thats a game bug not lag. Also what seems like a slight pause when I first crash down in a pod somtimes. Overall performance is great and I enjoy the settings.

    Desktop

    7800GTX, Opteron 148 @ 2.8ghz, 2gb system ram @ DDR500 3-4-3-8 timings.

I love BF2142 when your in a good game, but there are alot of boring crappy ones too, and seems like cheaters are becoming more prodominant.

I've run 2142 on two machines. The first one is a HP ZD8000 with an ATI X600 with 128mb, a P4 with HT at 2.8 ghz, and 2 gigs of ram. It barely runs playable (~15 fps) on low settings at 1152x860 (I think thats the right res).

The other is a Sager 9260 with SLI GeForce 7950 GTX's, a Core 2 Duo at 2.4 ghz, and 4 gigs of memory. Gets somewhere around 90 FPS with all settings on max, 16AF, and 8xAA. Man I love this thing.

You should have NO problem on High settings, give it a shot.

I run BF 2142 on on my 5720 (in Sig) all high settings minus AA which I have at 2x. I could do 4x, but I dont really care to sacrifice 5-8 fps for something I barely notice.

I play with the system in my spec on the MEDIUM master setting, shadows turned off, advanced lighting turned off(extra muzzle flash is all I notice) @ 1400x1050 which is native 4:3 on my screen (wide screen doesn't look right no matter which guide I've tried) and I get ~40fps consistently. That's completely smooth to me even during big explosions or pod busting.

The BF engines aren't honestly that great, I can play CS:SOURCE @ native resolution nearly maxed out with ~50FPS consistent.

I used the laptopvideo2go drivers to make my NVS 110m a Go7300, then I overclocked it to Go7400 speeds.

I only play it on my rig. Tried playing on my laptop but graphically it wasn't the same (Duh, I know). Anyways, I play @ 1600x1200 85Hz, everything on HIGH with Dynamic Lighting and shadows and full viewing distance and 4x AA.

I used ATITool, but I'm not sure if that works with vista yet. CoolBits might, though.

Yeah, ATITool works fine. First, though, make sure your card is recognised as a Geforce, not an NVS. I use the laptopvideo2go drivers to do that.
