Well you probably all know the trailer was released recently, and it actually looks pretty fun! I'm really just interested in driving tanks, aircrafts, and other vehicles if there are any...hope its good I guess. link (its pretty funny)

Wow, that trailer left a smile on my face. Nice change from all the ultra violent, super realistic, propaganda fueled, gory FPS theme. Kinda reminds me of the warm and happy games in old 2D console days. Sounds like they used the voice actor from "The Punisher" for the intro. Heinrick Von Snitchel!

awesome trailer lol, funny too.

LOL!!!! "not getting head shot by the 15 year old boy who plays the game for 8 hours a day." LOL!!! Finally Battlefield for the casual gamers! Plus with lower PC requirements it can run on integrated graphic cards, so X3100 users cheers!

I'll download it from piratebay just for the heck of it

YAY! Finally EA is turning around, more about fun/creativity and less about money. Trying to run a game completely on ad revenue is a risky endeavor, and they are really biting the bullet for the rest of the industry in trying out what is essentially a prototype business model. The only successful ad supported games I can think of are Runescape and...uh...well that's the only one I can think of.

The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Farcry and a bunch of other games were released later on with ads. Its not their own idea.
-
Eh... I'll take a realistic shooter over that.

lol @ guys sitting on plane wings

ScifiMike12 Drinking the good stuff
Finally looks like EA got something right, sheesh.
But yeah, I loved that narrator.. reminds me of the one reviewer for Zero Punctuation. -

Looks good. Ok I'm not going to go ahead and say "BEST ONLINE GAME 3V4R OMG!!!!!!one!!!1111one!111!!!" But hey, it's free. I know I'll be playing it when it's released.
Looks like TF2 had an illegitimate child with Battlefield. -
Releasing Farcry with ads is similar, but there was no risk involved because Farcry has already been out for several years in the formal marketplace (where you pay 50 bucks to buy it), and therefore the initial investment and development costs were already covered. Releasing BF Heroes without an initial paid release means that EA is risking the entire investment and development cost if their ad model falls through.
Otherwise, I've also noticed quite a few Korean MMOs use a free ad supported system. So I'd consider BF Heroes to be borrowing ideas from them.
Anyway, I'll be signing up when it comes out, looks like a blast...sister game to TF2. -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
OH I completely agree somehwat
, I just mean the basic principle of using advertising is not theirs. I'm sure EA has contracts signed and money in the bank for whatever companies are in for the advertising. So I hardly doubt if people don't play the game they will be at a major loss. Besides why do you think they went with the cartoon route. Because its less demanding and its playable on alot more computers. So its not a real risk for them either.

TF2 > than this. Doesn't look all that great to me. So what if its free?
Am I the only one tired of WWII games? -

Hah!! Had I had mentos and Dr. Pepper in my mouth I would have sprayed it out my nose when they flashed the non bit-torrent part. That was perfect comic commentary! Looks like we know who EA doesn't like.

Its a free game so im guessing Steam will buy the rights in 6 months and then re -release it for 20 bucks a pop.
