Yeah, Ive had this problem ever since Ive got the game. At random times on random maps BF2 suddenly crashes, the audio goes on like a broken record for a few seconds, and it takes me back to my desktop.

I updated my drivers, cleaned out the interior of my tower, reinstalled BF2, and even repositioned my graphics card to another PCI slot (don't know what good that would do me..)

system specs below (the Dell Dimension E310)

    Help? :]

BF2 is a very buggy game, do you play always on low settings?

BF2 isn't very buggy. Been playing for years on various hardware without issues. Initial release had some bugs, but pretty much all were taken care of with patches.

It could be any number of issues. It could be the poorly performing FX5200, onboard audio, or overheating of some sort.

My only other suggestion would be to reinstall Windows as registry and other stuff can garble up Windows.

I think its your video card. The FX5200 is the min req. for bf2.

bf2 is buggy for vista64. Built in VOIP doesnt work for me.

Anyway, have you updated to the latest patch of Bf2 v1.41 i believe?
