Hey guys, I'm sure you're tired of reading about issues with BF2, but so am I. I just recently got back into the game, because it runs quite nice on my HP laptop I got.

The only problem I'm having, is that when you use an external view with the vehicles, the ground turns yellow/white, and blurs. Looks like it's some kind of bug/texture corruption. Also, it does it when climbing ladders.

Anybody know of any fix on this?

I'm also having crashing problems, but hopefully the 1.4 patch will fix that. If you guys have heard of this, please let me know! Thanks!

Well first of all, I was using the drivers that came with the laptop, which were newer than the ones I could get off of the nVidia website, and theirs wouldn't work anyway.

I have tried Omega's newest drivers that work, and even some ones I got off guru3d, that allows overclocking and whatnot.

The same thing happened on all of the drivers. If I could simply find out if it's happening to any other 7200 users, then maybe I can narrow the problem down a bit.

I don't know if it's a bug with the game or not.

On nVidia's website, their newest drivers are 84.63, and I have 84.64.

I'm using the NGO nVidia Optimized Driver v1.9137 which is ForceWare version 91.37.

Are you sure your video card has the required 128 MB of memory? The HP Pavilion DV6000, for example, ships with only 64MB of dedicated video memory.

If you don't have enough video memory, this would certainly explain the problems you are having.

The amount of dedicated memory, even if it's only 64MB, shouldn't be the problem - the lower-end cards (sub-7600) are designed to use TurboCache shared memory, which works quite well. According to HP, the dv6000z's Go7200 is "256MB". I have run BF2 in the past on 64MB cards without problems.

Try putting the settings as low as they can go, and see if you have the same issue. Since you tried multiple drivers, I'd say this is an issue with the game, not your laptop.
