I'm getting some weird artifacts while playing BF2 on my new Inspiron 1520. I am running the latest Nvidia 162.50 with modded .inf file from laptopvideo2go.com, all the latest drivers for the rest of my hardware, and am running Windows XP SP2 with all the updates (got rid of Vista). Also have the latest BF2 patch installed.

Can anybody think as to why this is happening?
Settings are almost all maxed, minus AA, its at like 2x or something like that, and running at 1024x768.

try installing the newest drivers from nvidia. as in the official ones that are for ur gpu. i know that i had some problems with sandbags looking shiny on my MR x1600 and it was driver related. was fixed with newer drivers. i really wanna say its the modded .inf files.

Try driver 163.11 and see if this fixes the problem. There are some drivers that cause this issue. Your best bet it to try newer ones.

Are you overclocking? Pushing your hardware too far will often cause artifacting. Here, it could also be that you are missing entire textures- do you have enough RAM?

You should restart your computer, I had that problem, and it worked for me ( I don't know for you, but you can try it)

If you have to latest drivers, then roll back to later ones. Also, when ever i do have a problem, i do try and restart... But now my computer wont even shut down, or restart let alone... Some Driver issue. But its not a problem to me... Which reminds me... i should probobly talk to someone about this.... Sorry off topic... i tend to ramble. Sorry.

Those artifacts look very funny. They are probably because of the drivers.

I think the restarting the computer should work. And what a wonderful off topic sentence, I'd love to join in. :D :D I'll reply on my own..xfire... anyone who has it should add me.>.>

But seriously though, try restarting your computer, if it doesn't work, try what other people said, update your drivers.

That's an M95...But in reality terms, since I spent some time with my Navy Seal cousin(playing video games), it's more of a Barret M82 sniper.

You have to rank up to get an upgrade to get the bigger sniper rifles (or any other rifle for that matter).
Anyways, no its not overclocked. I tried restarting and that didnt help. I have plenty of RAM so thats not it either.
So, I'm with you guys on it being a driver issue.
I heard that I have to unload the previous driver before installing a new one, and that there is a program made to do this. Is there any truth to that?

I recommend uninstalling your current drivers and running a driver cleaner like Driver sweeper(in Safe mode) and then installing the "new" drivers.

One of the methods on Driver sweeper.

Use older drivers in the 150 series, the latest ones are known to cause issues.
