I just installed BF2, but when I go online, there are no servers in the server list, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
plz help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Maybe you need to download the current patch.
-
I didn't download any patches.
-
Are you running Vista? I think you need to run the program in (1) XP SP2 compatibility mode and (2) 'Run As Administrator'
-
Have you installed Battlefield 2 V1.41 patch?
If not then download it from here and install it:
http://files.filefront.com/Battlefield+2+v141+Patch/;6194285;;/fileinfo.html
Also, if you're new to BF2 then play it for awhile and then head over to http://www.realitymod.com/ and try Project Reality mod for BF2. It'll be the most realistic war mod you'll ever play. -
Im running Vista how do I put to into XP SP2??
-
You need to right click on the exe file for the game, select 'properties', and you should find a 'compatibility' tab in the popup window. I don't have a Vista machine on me right now, but I believe that is how you get to it.
-
you need the new patches
-
How long does patching take, not downloading, just patching?
-
depends. My desktop took 5 minutes, my laptop more like 10. but this was with special forces and the booster packs
-
Patched, still no servers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Strange... Even with only the 1.4 patch i have 500+ ranked servers.
-
I went to ea troubleshoot, it said if you have 6 or more filters, it turns balnk, and what does new patches do, gives you more servers?
-
The 1.2 patch adds the sf unlocks, while the others are just genreal bug fixs i believe. If a server is 1.4, only 1.4 clients can play, but there should be servers for all the patch levels, in only one or two for the vanilla and earlier patches
-
Well, I just loaded up special forces on vista ultimate x64 with the 1.4 patch, and i get 500+ ranked, not full, not empty, and no password servers. I tried it on my desktop with home premium x64 and the same thing. Have you let it through the vista firewall? That might cause no servers to show up.
-
Be sure to check "same Version" in your filters
-
-
1. Download the latest patch. It should be available off of Battlefield's official site.
2. Install the patch. If you are still not at the latest version, go back to step 1. If you are, go to step 3.
3. Restart your computer. After you restart, run BF2. MAKE SURE YOU RUN THE ORIGINAL, NOT ANY MODS.
4. When you run BF2, look in your Filters. Turn ALL filters off.
5. Also make sure you are in Internet mode, and not LAN or Direct IP.
6. Click on "Refresh List" or "Show All" button (I don't own the game, so I don't know what it would say).
7. If you still do not see any servers, uninstall and reinstall the game.
8. If you STILL do not see any servers, or you get stuck on one step, post back and we'll try to help you out. -
Even without patches there should be servers. when i installed it a week ago there were about 10 running 1.0.
-
Whats Lan or direct Ip???
-
Some1 Rply!!!!
-
You seem to lack patience..
LAN - Local Area Network. When you play on a localised network with friends, off the internet.
Direct IP - When you connect directly to a server using the server ip and port.
Make sure you're firewall is set to allow BF2, and if you're using windows firewall - turn it off. Also follow the instructions for Vista as provided by Greg on page 1 of this thread. -
Sorry for my impatience, i got it working, but on vista I keep getting kicked by punkbuster saying no packet flow, I am running as admin and set it to xp sp2 compatibility, help!!!
-
Disable UAC
-
Whats UAC?
-
User account control. I run bf with uac disables and no comapatability mode and its fine
-
But I am already admin.
-
How do I disable it.
-
UAC is different.
-
control panel, User accounts, turn UAC off, Reboot
-
It keeps on saying no packet flow.
-
did you restart?
-
Yes I did restart it.
-
is it being blocked by vista's firewall?
-
bobblaine,
BF2 has many issues running on Vista, some can be rectified by the suggestion posted by others in this thread. I have issues with BF2 EVEN with my WinXP and took me 2 days before I realized that it was caused by an Audio driver installed by my DVD-Authoring tools (forgot the name..).
However, I would STRONGLY suggest that you go to BF2 official forums (Google it, there are tons of them) and can help you far more efficiently. -
