Only multiplayer, the retail will have Single, but BF is really only geared for multiplayer.

Come on we need more peers!!!

 

Or for those on low bandwidth like me .... wait 2 days and download it in several hours at Yahoo -- oh , the agony .

Btw , ever since 1.4 the game is even more laggy then before and still buggy like a beta , I'm not sure I'm gonna buy the new one even if its good .

not to me, BF2 patch 1.4 seems good, it runs stable on my laptop, no problems.

especially ever since I upgraded to 2gigs of RAM.

 

I thought BF2 1.4 was perfectly fine. In fact I thought BF2 was great the entire time.

Also, I played the demo, was very good! I loved titan mode, its very fast paced, a few bugs but good.

I ran everything high minus dynamic shadows and light which were are medium I also has 2xAA.

 

any word if the x1400 video card can handle it?

You don't need your CD key. You'll only have a problem if you have an illegal copy of XP on your computer.

 

I tried out the demo last night. Keep in mind that I have never played BF1942 or BF2. But the first time I fired it up after the install, my computer never quite processing. I couldn't do a thing, even at lowest settings... definitely not right. Finally, it brought my computer to a screeching halt and just kept accessing the hard drive and I couldn't do a thing... not a good first impression. I had to hard stop the computer... definitely not good.

But, upon reboot, I decided to give it another go. Everything was fine at high settings that time. Not a problem. But, strictly speaking, I didn't find it particularly enjoyable. I'm gonna give it some more time, but for the half hour/45 mins I played last night, I just wasn't all that impressed. Maybe it was the server I was using or something... idk. Titan mode looks cool, but conquest sucked, I can say that much. At least, it did on that server. Like I said, I'll give it another try on a different server this weekend.

 

Can someone post screens of high rez where everything is maxed out?

 

its dling super slow for me. >10kbs. I have 28 seeds and a ton of peers, but its only connected to 2 seeds and 8 peers. are there other ways to dl it? or is there something i can do to speed it up? I'm using utorrent.

 

Maybe people aren't seeding right now. I downloaded it last night at over 300KB/s at some points. I'll keep seeding it until I have to leave school in a bit. Otherwise... welcome to the world of torrents. Sometimes they're blazing fast, sometimes you download at 0.3 KB/s for hours.

This game is totally over-rated.

It feels like a 100% mod for BF2, despite the developers spending months trying to convince us it was a totally new experience.

It's not terrible, just not worth it, and in my opinion, not even half the game that Battlefield 2 is. It feels clunky, the weapons are boring, the vehicles, other then the awesome Euro Mech, are equally as boring.

Out of BF1942, BF Vietnam, Bf2, I would have to say this is the poorest effort.

A true let down. We'll have to see what Enemy Territory can offer us now....

Quake Wars is going to suck big time, mark my words.

 

It couldn't possbily be worse then BF2142, and believe me I absolutely love BF2 and had amazingly high hopes for this.

It's a mere mod, end of, and a crap mod at that.

 

After playing the demo for a while, I highly doubt I will be buying BF 2142 unless it gets a score of 8.5 or above from most reviewers.

As a Bf2 veteran, and after playing BF2142 this weekend I can only say that I will definitly buy this game.
The graphic is top-notch, the new Titan mode is excellent and the action is just as intense as, if not more so, than what Bf2 can offer.
Keep in mind that this is only a demo and the full game will have much more to offer when it comes out.

 

I just played the demo and it is filled with some many bugs!!!! I will probably get the game when it is much cheaper than 50 bucks. For now ill play bf2, but what I really like is how it loads up quicker than bf2.

Ok downloaded, installed, video settings maxed out. I type this while I play the game.

Conclusion: Game is still pretty buggy, from the programming side to play & the User Interface is one of the worst I have ever seen. Graphics are really nice though, here is my screenshot on all settings maxed out:
