Everytime I try to install the game where it asks you to enter the cd key another window pops up as the "enter cd key" window appears saying installation was interrupted. What do I do?

Hm... maybe you should try on another computer, try upgrading your installshield (I think that's what it uses?). I don't know much but this might help...

I know it will work if I create another user on my computer but than I'll lose the user I have now because it's the one I created when I first reformatted hard drive.

I'm actually not sure... this is queer... How about installing it on a different user and just running it from yours?
